This hotel is a lovely find out in the countryside, lovely olde world pub with character and charm owners have made it special with lots of lovely touches, hand made chocolates and biscuits in the rooms, comfortable, cosy, very friendly, food is excellent views not to be missed.

Great value for money. Food was excellent. Great friendly atmosphere with open log fire. Feels like you are in the middle of nowhere...no traffic, only bird song. Will definitely be back, if only for the food and beer!

My wife and I stayed at the Marquis last year, loved it,especially the great food and the Palmers beer. Friends with two young children have just had a night there, and are full of praise for the way their kids were made welcome, and they also loved the food and beer. A lovely hidden-away gem.

The Marquis of Lorne is a realy great place to stay, room was lovely with nice little touches like homeade cookies and chocs. We ate lunchtime and in the evening and the food was excellent, the surrounding area is very pretty and beeches just 10 mins away, what more could you want.

We have heard all good things about this place and its no surprise, a warm welcome is all part of the package and then the food is to die for. You have to try the choc nemisis which is paradise.
