Decided to come here as an anniversary treat. The rooms on the website looked beautiful and we were not disappointed. We paid a little extra to get a room with a view and it was well worth it. Beautiful views. Beautiful room. We felt very posh for a night. Next time I will remember to pack trunks as the spa... More

We stayed for a weekend for some rest and relaxation and we definitely got what we wanted. A stunning location and hotel, no hesitation in recommending. The views were breathtaking and the peace and tranquillity were just what we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, food was delicious and the room clean and comfortable. A great place to unwind.... More

From start to finish we found our weekend at the Watersmeet hotel absolutely perfect. The front of house service is polite and efficient. The swimming pool, steam room, and jacuzzi is lovely, and the overall standards and finish in then hotel is first class. The only issue we found was that the room we had had no windows, and was... Just stayed for two nights in early May on a last minute booking deal. Absolutely first class. Was very lucky as well with weather, and given room at rear of hotel with a window (expected sunpipe room with no window). Even though looked out at kitchen wall, was really nice to actually have a window to open, and would choose... More

This hotel has the most brilliant location, the views from the restaurant, as well as the rooms are truly wonderful. All the staff are extremely helpful and professional. This was our 3rd stay at The Watersmeet and will certainly not be the last.

We have just had a short break in this luxury hotel with The most beautiful view of the rugged Devon coast. The room was VERY COMFY and the staff on reception and in the restaurant were efficient and respectful. It was relaxing to use the indoor pool and just to sit and gaze on the sea. It is a lovely... We booked this hotel for a short break before our baby arrived. We chose the hotel based on its great trip advisor feedback and it did not disappoint. The staff are some of the most helpful and friendly that we have met anywhere and the location is fantastic. We had a stunning meal in the sea view restaurant while watching... More

My Wife and I were Married here in (careful Mark, careful) February ......2007, yes 2007 and we've returned here every year since, to celebrate managing to not become a divorce statistic. This place is brilliant. Sure, i'm perhaps a little biased, as it holds so many fantastic memories for me, but there's no getting away from the fact that this... More

We have been here several times and it is our favourite hotel. This year saw the addition of a Brasserie plus a refurbished dining area, very tastefully done and complimenting the overall area. I cannot fault anything from the very comfortable rooms with the one we occupied this year having a brand new bathroom - very spacious with plenty of... More

We had been sightseeing in Devon, revisiting some favourite places, and happened upon Watersmeet whilst driving through the bay in the late afternoon. Luckily there was a vacant room with a view of the cove and sea and we were quickly and comfortably settled. The room was very well furnished and equipped, with the large bathroom containing both bath and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Watersmeet is one of Devon’s finest coastal hotels. It is situated above a quiet, sandy beach on the rugged North Atlantic coast between the timeless village of Mortehoe and the bustling resort of Woolacombe - with its three mile long, award-winning beach. All but three of the bedrooms offer spectacular sea views taking in Combesgate Beach, Lundy Island and Baggy Point. A number of the bedrooms have original wooden balconies where you can sit and watch magnificent sunsets. The seaward side of the hotel offers one long, uninterrupted panorama and whether you’re reading the paper in the lounge or dining in the restaurant you can enjoy the most wonderful views of the sea and rolling surf. The very best pocket sprung beds; thick, luxurious duvets; crisp white linen and superior memory foam pillows ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. The food is of a very high standard and much of the ingredients are sourced within the county - with venison coming from Exmoor and seafood from Brixham. Right on the hotel’s doorstep is one of the country’s best surfing beaches; a top links golf course and, of course, the South West Coastal Path. ... more   less
