I absolutely love this place. A warm welcome, stunning views, amazing food... and a beautiful interior that radiates warmth and atmosphere. A blissful stay that can't be overstated. A rather fine wine cellar too!

I cannot rate this hotel highly enough for service, comfort, food and general hospitality......all first class. We stayed in the adjacent cottages on a ladies weekend. Nothing is too much trouble for the team at the hotel........special thank you Paul for looking after us. Location is perfect for walking, Dunster or Lynmouth shopping, a good pub just down the road.......although... More

We stayed three nights in the self catering barn Weavers Loft as part of the "Murder On The Moor" weekend. Weavers is a very comfortable and cosy accomodation, well appointed , warming and has everything you need for a great stay. We love this place - it`s so peaceful ,interesting and ultimately a great escape. The Murder Mystery night was... More

We have just returned from our eighth visit to this hotel. It never fails to disappoint. Andrew and his team were as welcoming as ever. The food was superb with any dietery requirements catered for. There was nothing that was too much trouble. We enjoyed wonderful walks in the area and were treated to sights of lots of birds, autumn... More

Unfortunately we did not have a positive experience and would not return. Our 'cottage' was nothing more than a youth hostel and the photographs were obviously taken a long time ago when it was freshly painted. It did not help that there were bats flying around our cottage and we were told 'well you are in the country' by one... More

Normally I thank all guests for posting whether they post positive or negative reviews however I am really disappointed at both the comments left and the associated rating which I do not believe reflect the accommodation as can be seen from other reviews. Simonsbath is situated in the heart of Exmoor the nearest streetlight is over 5 miles away and... More

Have just spent an amazing weekend at this hotel, which is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Andrew couldn't have made us any more welcome and the food served (breakfast & dinner) were fantastic quality. It's fantastic to see dogs made so welcome & treated as part of the family too. My room was bright, clean & comfortable and the interconnecting doors... More

I have just spent the weekend at Simonsbath in Shepherds Crook cottage. This hotel is beautifully situated with walks from the door and only nine miles to the amazing Tarr Steps. The cottages are quaint, well kept, warm and clean. The main house is really beautiful and has the most comfortable lounge in the world......big soft leather chairs and crackling... More

We stayed for 3 nights as a walking group. Great room - had everything - nice and warm, very comfortable bed, lots of hot water for baths after long walks etc. Staff were wonderful and the food was amazing. I would have expected this standard of food in a very good restaurant. Wonderful walking area. I would definitely recommend and... More

Stayed here last year. Room was very large with a wonderfull view of the valley. Everything about the place oozed character just the dining experience was very poor. No atmosphere, very similar to a rest home! The food was very oily and my stomach wasn't to pleased either the following day! Can't fault the hotel, very nice, but the restaurant... More
