By far the best B&B i've ever stayed in and better than any of the 5* hotels, John and Pennie were excellent hosts. I won't consider staying anywhere else in Comb Martin. Evening food and breakfasts were fantastic! More

Mellstock House is run by a very nice couple. The rooms are nice- from both of our rooms we overlooked the nice garden with green hillsides in the background and the sea on the right. It was almost as if we were at home. There where plenty of good books toö lend and read and information about hiking-routes were avaible.... More

I stayed at Mellstock House from Christmas Eve to the day after Boxing Day. Penny & John made me feel so welcome I instantly relaxed despite being on my own. With a small number of guests and their unique laid back approach it was like the best family party ever, the food was fantastic and plentiful, the room comfortable and... More

We recently stayed at Mellstock House for 4 nights. We stayed in the suite with a bedroom and separate sitting room with tv. Penny and John were very welcoming and really went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Car parking was at a premium but John was happy to move the cars around so that wasnt a... More

I stayed here early July while walking the south west coastal path. I liked it so much that I stayed an extra couple of nights. Penny and John are welcoming hosts who go the extra mile every time. The optional evening meal is very good value and the fact that it has a licenced bar adds value. The room was... More

My husband, myself and two friends have just returned home to Derbyshire from a vist to Mellstock House, It was the most fantastic place that we have stayed in a very long time. Penny and John were a lovely couple who made our stay the best. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we felt so welcome. The Menu... More

We only stayed at Mellstock House for one night after a friend's wedding, however, we were very impressed with this B&B - the room (No.4) was spotless, light and well decorated. The owners were warm and friendly and kindly agreed to let us have the room a couple of hours before usual check-in time. The only slight niggles we found... More

A traditional British guest house situated in the prettily located but somewhat tired resort of Combe Martin. Sitting almost on the South West Coastal Footpath this would be a good choice for walkers. The house is clean and well decorated. Food is straight forward and well cooked -the optional dinners are good value for money. The only things we were... More

Wonderfully clean everywhere. Great shower. Nice decor/bedding etc. Very tasty, and very reasonably-priced, home-cooked food. The bar and small patio area were conducive to friendly chats (if you want!). The dining area is cosy. Penny and John are a super, friendly couple who go out of their way to make you feel at home. We stayed for 5 nights, felt... More
