Stayed at this little hotel for a weekend and it was great - definitely will be staying there again. We've stayed at the Berry Head Hotel before but that was FIVE times the cost with terrible food. This truly is Brixhams BEST KEPT SECRET, We only stayed at The Shoalstone for 1 night but it will stay with us forever, an amazingly friendly guest house, with panoramic stunning sea views, excellent hospitality, lovely comfortable bed, beautiful decor, lovely breakfast and very relaxing, Sue is very friendly and extremely helpful, nothing is too much for her. 10 minutes... Like other reviewers I'm amazed the Shoalstone doesn't feature higher in the rankings - think it's probably down to the fact that its hard to find on the web. Surprised that the last review was in August 2009. Stayed in 2010 and last week and the comments from the only review are just as applicable now. Sue & Gordon still run a value for money business. We spent 4 nights at the Shoalstone last week with various members of our family whilst we were in Brixham for a wedding. Sue and Gordon could not have been more hospitable or accommodating.
