I hadn’t stayed in a youth hostel in a very long time so I was a bit afraid after booking this one, well it was a great success. Location second to none, right in the middle of the national park, where you can have walks in the middle of breathtaking surroundings. We booked a private room en suite, so it... More

I spent there one night only but I would definitely come back. The room was nice, bed comfortable and the bathroom clean. I ordered Irish breakfast (8euro) and then I went for the whole day of hiking. Hostel is situated on one of the tracks (Grey: Woodland Road), if you follow it to your left, you will reach the Upper... More

First rate location in centre of Glendalough. Friendly receptionist, clean room with en suite facilities, servicable self-catering kitchen, spacious lounge, peaceful nights sleep. What more could you ask for?

This is a large hostel that can hold a lot of guests. It is very clean and well kept. I didn't hesitate to go barefoot in the bathroom or shower like I do at many hostels. They also have a big self-catering kitchen where you can make your own meals and a big dining room in which to eat them.... More

Stayed in this hostel when I was hiking in the mountains. Positive - The manager is very friendly - Clean - Large rooms, no bunk beds Negative - People at the reception are not friendly at all. Checking in was not possible at 15:00 and I was send a way with the message that I should come back later. Not... More

Booked this morning and was told there were very few staying. Paid E35 for a private room as when I arrived there were quite a number of excited teens and twenties around, so thought I would be better off alone, One group had some members who made ongoing noise which meant sleep was impossible, At 1230am the fire alarm went... Staff was extremely rude, they came into our room at 2 in the morning without any sort of permission or warning and started giving out to us for talking quietly. The beds were broken and uncomfortable. None of the computers worked. The food was scarce and almost inedible. Almost ruined our whole school trip. Wouldn't advise any group to stay... More

My husband and I decided to bring our 2 young sons 9 and 5 for their first proper trek and because of many many childhood memories of daytrips to Glendalough, we chose there as our destination. I hadn't been there for maybe 20 years. A friend recommended we stay at this hostel, and because of the many nice things she... More
