Spent the day here enjoying the lake and surrounding area and using the hotel amenities. The staff were incredibly helpful, especially the young girl in the reception area. The food was reasonably priced and good quality.

My sister and her husband were here about 15 years ago, and said it was a wonderful hotel. She booked my wife and I to spend two night here.....GAWD was it awful. This place has been left to go downhill like a train wreck. The elevator didn't level off on the floors, the food was inedible (my sister sent her... More

Waited twenty minutes during a very quiet afternoon no more than a handful of customers at the time only ordered a sandwich which was only ok but very overpriced then arrived the Glendolugh Cheesecake which was a tiny piece of frozen bought in cheesecake priced @ €5.95 for a tiny piece very disappointing staff are also easily summed up in... 100 euros for mouldy bath panels, musty wallpaper, rooms that have not been updated for about 50 years and smell like it, no wifi unless you are within arms length of reception and Nescafé for breakfast. Try one of the B & Bs in the area. They at least lookalike they have been maintained.

A 72-hour break to Ireland for the UK's holiday weekend found us in Wicklow. i like the Glendalough Hotel. It's right beside the ancient monastery with its round tower (where the monks used to hide from any marauding naughty people). There's a similar round tower in Clones Co. Monaghan (about a 3 hour drive north of Glendalough). We just love... More

I have been to this hotel many times and have found it to be a great base for exploring the surrounding area. This time, I stayed there with no car and enjoyed the walks, wildlife and the general peace and tranquility. The hotel was, as usual, very comfortable, I had booked a single room but this would have easily accommodated... More

Just a line as we didn’t stay here as the hotel was booked out, but on bank holiday Monday we had a late lunch sitting outside on the deck. A trio of fish salad…it was so good. The sun was shining and all seemed well in the world. We had walked to the upper lake so had a decent appetite... More

This was a hotel all about location. We booked it to be right in the middle of Glendalough, just where we wanted to be. We expected the hotel to be a decent country hotel- and it was. Yes, it is old fashioned and a bit shabby round the edges but the staff were friendly, the food was good and the... More

We stayed there for May Day weekend and I really don't know what people are complaining about! It's lovely old-fashioned hotel. We enjoyed the stay very much, staff were very friendly and it just couldn't be closer to Glendalough Valley. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, and so was the breakfast. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful old world hotel in a fantastic setting. Beautiful walks which allow you to come back tired to the comfort of a home from home.
