This was one of the best B&B's we stayed in. Jackie welcomed us and was very friendly and helpful. Our room was large, very clean , had comfortable beds and a large bathroom. Lot's of little "extras" made the room comfortable and it was very nicely decorated. There is a sitting room downstairs with books, games, etc.. Breakfast room was... More

My friend and I spent one night at Ashdene. It was by far the best of the 4 B&Bs we stayed at. Absolutely charming person in Jackie and her husband was really friendly and helpful also. My French friend was very touched by the attention to detail, the welcome, the wonderful tea and brack. A highly recommendable place to stay.... More

A lovely B&B with a charming host and hostess. You can tell that Jackie pays attention to detail and has thought of just about everything. The breakfasts were just wonderful with many choices or you may even choose to combine selections from the menu.. She even offered to make us an early breakfast if we had to leave earlier that... Jackie is the proprietor of this home. She is quite lovely. We were greeted with a warm welcome upon our arrival and were served tea and cookies on her front porch before dinner. She was very helpful in offering suggestions for dinner, made phone calls and was willing to make reservations for us. There wasn't anything particularly fancy about her... More

I drove my mother and two of her friends around southern Ireland for 12 days this past October. We stayed in 9 different B&B and this one was one of our more pleasant stays. Mrs. Burns was very gracious and helpful! We particulary enjoyed the afternoon tea, electric blankets and gorgeous breakfast. More

This lovely b&b is just a few minutes down the road from the town of Avoca and Fitzgeralds pub, located in a very tranquil, cozy, country setting. Upon our arrival, Jackie the owner gave us a warm greeting and offered us some tea/coffee and baked goods. Jackie was a very gracious host who offered some dining suggestions when asked, and... More

We selected Ashdene, Avoca from "The Green Booklet" which was picked up in our local library. One is always a little apprehensive when you choose blindly from a booklet. When we arrived we were delighted at the location but after we moved in, unpacked, talked to the owners, slept the first night and then had our first of 7daily breakfasts. WOW... More

This was a welcome place to stay our first night. We arrived in the late afternoon to a welcome of tea/coffee and carrot cake! Our room was very clean and nicely appointed for our night. The breakfast was lovely as was the host, Jackie. More
