The Merriman Hotel is small and cozy. We enjoy going here with the kids on a Sunday normally when there is a match on the tv. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is hit and miss. Normally though it's ok. We like it as the kids can run around a bit while we sit and chat.

Had end of season staff dinner party in the restaurant about two weeks ago. A 3 course set dinner menu for a party of 11 came in at under €30 a head. Turned out to be very good value as the food was top quality. The seafood platter starter that I had was huge and was definately one of the... More

This was the first hotel I stayed in on my trip around the burren on my bike. I decided to do a mix of hotels for a treat, B&Bs to save money and "whatever" where there was no other option. All I hoped was that the hotels I stayed in would put the treat, rather than the threat, in treat.... More

The Merriman Hotel is the only actual hotel in Kinvara. Built into the ruins of two older building, it fits in perfectly with the town, and has a beautiful thatched roof. Rooms are nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. The restaurant is above average for a hotel but I only ate their once as there are many other dining places... More

Very good central location and they allowed me to check in early afternoon. Room was spotlessly clean and bright. In the centre of Kinvara so everything was within walking distance. Some lovely reastaurants and littel shops. Because it was Sunday the hotel restaurant wasn't open but there was a good menu selection in the bar. Staff were all very pleasant... More

Lovely location for a hotel close to nice pubs & a decent restaurant down on the harbour. Lovely comfortable room with tea & coffee making facilities. They advertise a seafood restaurant but it looked really dismal no menus on display & when we went down there was no one in it so we chose to eat elsewhere. I think they... More

Have to agree with previous review. Seriously lacking in customer service skills. Traveled in a group. One of the parties was actually accused (aggressively) of leaving without paying, bill had been paid earlier, and was followed out to the parking lot. This is just one of many complaints about the staff. Lovely polite young man at desk as well as... More

After conducting an extensive review of this report. We feel that this situation has been exaggerated. This situation would not have occured if the guests in question had come to the front desk to check out before midday or come to explain that they their bill had been paid for by Parents earlier that morning. If they had come to... More

We arrived at the hotel in question and tried to check in. The reception desk was deserted. I had to go to the bar to find someone who could check us in. I had been told by email that our price included B&B and one main meal in the bar. There was great confusion as to what they thought we... More
