The breakfasts are to die for, the rooms are gorgeous and Violet is a national treasure!
I stayed at Violet's wonderful B&b while on a family holiday to Ireland. It was the cheapest place we stayed but by far the best. Great rooms all individually decorated. Spotlessly clean and comfortable but what set Fortview apart from it's competition was Violet's wonderful welcome ( a pot of the best tea and carrot cake). Her breakfasts are amazing...

I didn't really stay here last year (it won't let me go back far enough), it was actually a couple of years earlier but was looking the place up as I'm thinking of returning to Ireland on hols this year and thought I would write a review.

We stayed here on a recent trip to west Cork. The rooms are well decorated, spacious and spotless. Violet was an excellent host and welcomed us into her lovely home with with tea and cake on arrival. The house is located near Goleen and is an excellent base for touring the mizen peninsula or Sheep's Head peninsula. What makes this...

What a place - wonderful food - the breakfasts were fantastic, cakes appeared with tea in the afternoon and we were made so welcome - pampered. Violet, the lady of the house, did everything - and I mean everything - she was amazing. This is the best B&B I have ever stayed in.
Can I find a nit to pick...

Have stayed many times in Fortview guesthouse and also in the two self catering cottages. Beautiful setting, wonderful rooms, friendly hosts, amazing breakfast! The only problem with Fortview is that you won't ever want to leave!!
What a lovely place to stay. Forthouse was wonderful to stay at. Our room was very clean, the bed was quite comfortable and the rest of the house was lovely. Our room was nicely furnished --it was not unreasonably small but i wish it was a bit bigger. It had a double bed and a single bed and since it...

Stayed here one night with my husband, sister and her children. We had a double and a family room and what rooms - we could have stayed here all week! Our double room was bright and airy, beautifuuly decorated. The family room was very spaceous and extremely well thought out. Both bath rooms were well equiped with lots of soft...

Where to start? Violet absolutely embodies Irish hospitality. You can feel the warmth as soon as you walk in the door. The house is part of a working farm and is set in the middle of farmland (cows, not crops). We were allowed to watch the cows being milked. We took a short walk to the "beach". There's castle ruins...
