We took advantage of a special offer for 2 nights B&B and 1 dinner and were not disappointed.having stayed at The Heron's Cove about 5 years ago we were delighted to see that it had remained the same-basic but roomy and comfortable bedroom with beautiful view of the Cove directly in front of the bedroomof the balcony. The dining room... More

I recently stayed in the Herons Cove for a two night stay, it is such a beautiful setting there, with plenty to do locally and to visit, the Mizen bridge, Crookhaven, the beach and so many areas to walk in. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday night and found the food to be to an excellent standard, there... More

While the main attraction of the Heron's Cove is the excellent restaurant, the rooms are very pleasant and with a view of the Cove which changes with the tide and the light. The restaurant is excellent. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Cuisine is based on local produce especially fish and meat. The fixed menu offers an excellent choice... More

Heron's Cove has just six bedrooms and overlooks a very peaceful tidal harbour where, surprise, surprise herons can be seen fishing. As a B&B I think it is one of the best in Cork and offers excellent value. Sue, the owner makes sure that everything is kept clean and tidy and the bedrooms are very cosy on a rainy day.... More

We recently spent 4 nights in Herons Cove. Our stay was perfect. The room was a generous sized family room with balcony and wonderful view. Comfortable beds, plenty of room and peace and quiet meant we all had good nights sleep. Sue and staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals were delicious. Even a fussy 8 yeal... More

We first visited The Herons Cove nearly 20 years ago and had long looked forward to a revisit which we did a couple of weeks ago for two nights. We were not disappointed and for the first time we stayed over. The room was very comfortable, well equipped and with a view to beat most hotels and spotless. We were... More

I dined in Heron Cove restaurant on Friday 12th Aug 2011. I was part of a group of 8 people in total and we arrived promptly for our 7pm reservation. The level of service received was, to be blunt, pretty appalling. Certainly the worst service experience during a week of dining out in West Cork. We were promptly shown to... More

Our room was just the right size for the two of us, the bed was very comfy, and the cove view was spectacular. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the heron fishing for his breakfast. We had a wonderful fresh dinner with locally sourced food. Breakfast was excellent as well. More

I have put September 2010 because that is as far back as the dates go... My late husband and I stayed here some time ago after a very long drive from Dublin. We had underestimated the time it would take to get here and were quite exhausted. When we were shown to our bedroom, I almost wept to see the... More

My husband and I ate there early in July of this year. we had a very expensive meal of which the main course consisted of a piece of fish with bottled Thai sweet chilli sauce poured over it. That was part of a €30 set menu, my husband had an expensive a la carte meal which was adequate. I did... More
