We were originally booked into room 201. The wallpaper was hanging off the wall. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. We were tempted to leave then but decided to inspect the room closer. We found BEDBUGS on both beds!!!!! We immediately went down to get a refund & leave. We we given a different room instead. We went to... More

I would not want to bring my wife or young kids here, but for a single guy passing through its OK. Once in a while it is nice to break free from the hotel/motel chains, and experience the seedier more interesting side of motor lodging. This place has a grand aspect from the busy strip mall type street. The lobby... More

If anyone is qualified to write a review of this place it is me. There was a huge hail storm in Knoxville in the spring of 2011 and I am a storm chaser that repairs hail damaged homes. I am a general contractor and came to Knoxville for work. When I first arrived in Knox I thought I would be... More

I read some reviews for this Hotel and should have listened what people had to say. This is the weekend bar hotel and for $179 you can stay the whole week, bet they didn't advertise that to ya did they?. Well that $179 draws in the roofers, landscapers you name it. Not that these guys don't deserve a cheap place... More

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. My children's feet were black from only 10 minutes of being there, it took them nearly an hour to get a crib to our room and I was exhausted, everything felt sticky, there was dust in every corner, we were roomed near the bar which was extremely loud,... My husband and I scheduled a minor surgery for our dog and the Univ. of Tenn. Vet Hospital, which would required one night stay. We heard that this place did accept dogs so I called them from my home in NC and made reservation for one night. I made the reservation by phone about a week prior to our visit.... More

I had to think about what to write about this place because the staff really pissed me off. Let me start by saying I was on a budget for work and from the outside the place did not look that bad. The lady at the front desk told me they had a special for people that were staying a week... More

My husband and I graduated from school in Maryville, Tennessee, but all of our classmates wanted to have our Class Reunion in Knoxville, Tennessee. We were a little apprehensive about booking at a Howard Johnson, since some of them are not so hot ! However, our Reunion at the Howard Johnson Plaza in Knoxville was absolutely fantastic ! I travelled to Knoxville to visit with family. The HJ Plaza was a really good value for the money. We had a king size room with a small fridge and the expected ammenities (HBO, iron, etc). The room seemed recently renovated. The rate was great for the area, which is the more affluent part of Knoxville. The staff was really... More
