It is certainly true that you can't judge a book by its cover. If you could you perhaps would not consider staying overnight at the Budget Host Sundowner in Kadoka. The outside of the building is old, the sign is broken, and your first impression is to go on down the road in either direction and find someplace else to... More

As we continued our cross country adventure we stopped here. It was very late at night having travelled the entire day. All we wanted was a bed and a shower and to see the Badlands during in the morning. The receptionist was pleasant. The room was clean, plenty of towels, non smoking room on ground floor. Dinner was a challenge... More

We could see this hotel from the interstate so we decided this might be a decent place to crash (stay) after a long day of driving (we were heading home from Montana). The desk clerk was personable and friendly. We were assigned a ground floor non-smoking room. Unloading the car was easy as we could park right in front of... More

Pulled off the road just east of Badlands- we wanted a shower, quiet clean room, and comfortable bed. Although an older motel, well kept with lots of flowers and even a grassy picnic area (and small pool). It was basic, but just what we needed. ((Note: American Inn, also reviewed was an option we considered- but it was right next... More

Stayed one night, no problems. Room was clean, price was OK ($65) but I felt it could have been a bit less for just one person. It's nearness to Badlands National Park probably explains the higher room rate compared to similar motels. Breakfast was fine. Not a bad place to stay for one night.

We stopped on a cross country trip. The beds were comfortable, surprisingly quiet rooms, fridge, microwave and even a small pool. Breakfast is included, but is isn't much. We ate dinner at Restaurant 21 ( or something like that, there are only three or four restaurants in town) . The food was good and good value and wait staff super... More

Rooms were VERY clean....the best of all we stayed in on a recent ten-day road trip! My kids & we parents loved the outdoor pool....small, but clean & not over-chlorinated. Breakfast was just okay, but did the job. A good value & we would stay there again!

We were on our way to Yellowstone on a spur of the moment trip and had been planning to camp, but after watching big storms moving in we decided to get a hotel. This place had a great location but was average in other ways. I'm picky about cleanliness. This was definitely not a shiny, sparkling place but I've seen... More

Our stay in room 202 for $60/night was a great deal. Pros- The room was very clean and recently painted, with a new pillowtop mattress. The desk staff were helpful, and apparently lived on site. Cons- The shower head was low. The breakfast was mostly carbohydrates ( though I loved the prepackaged microwavable short stacks of blueberry pancakes, and the donuts!)... More

We stayed in a room for 5: 2 queen beds and a twin. So, the room was larger than the average room, probably. We were warned at check-in that the door sometimes sticks, so we should turn the key "and give it a shove". Not the best words to hear. Beds were adequate. Bathroom was incredibly tiny. The showerhead came... More
