We have stayed at this hotel on several different dates and have enjoyed it every time. We did stay in one of the older rooms located in the back of the hotel one time and they are very small. But the remainder of our stays ( 10 total) we have stayed in one of the big rooms located on the... More

As we pulled in to deadwood we saw a sign offering rooms did 29.95. We were impressed with the front entrance so booked a room. The rooms haven't been remodeled in probably 70 years. They were clean but felt like you were in an asylum. More

After reading the reviews of this hotel I was skeptical about staying there. Maybe it was because I was expecting the worst that I found it to be OK. My room was small, but friends had a big room, it was a little shabby but clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was hot. We faced the street so... More

The hotel was interesting because it was historic. You felt like you were going back in time. The rooms were ok but they do need to be updated. As long as I can sleep I'm ok. The windows were old they should but some money into updating them. I loved the Old West feel of the hotel. It was a... More

My husband and I wanted a romantic getaway in a historic hotel. We didnt get it :( the staff was friendly and the casino and buffet were great but the rooms are horrible! The bed was smaller than stated online and very uncomfortable. The carpet was dirty and the bedding was old and dingy. It was very noisy and loud... More

A bus tour company booked us here for one night, we did not stay at this hotel by choice. The hotel had a genuine creepiness about it that extended to our double room on the third floor, which turned out to be super tiny, with barely any space to place our 4 pieces of luggage. The beds and pillows were... More

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to a meeting place we were in town to attend, given the dreadful parking situation in downtown Deadwood if you have to commute from farther away. Having been warned by tripadvisor, we knew to not stay at the old hotel but thought the Franklin motor inn across the street (part of the... More

Stayed there one night while traveling in south dakota. We stayed in the exterior hotel area across the street. There was no ice machine so we either had to go to the bar in the casino or go to the second floor of the casino hotel. There were no tissues so we had to ask at the front desk. The... More

The lobby and main floor was said to be restored and the chandilers/tin ceilings were beatiful. The leather couches were already worn out and shabby. The rooms were badly outdated, smelly, carpet filthy and floorboards under the carpet spongy. The beds/towels were clean and the staff pleasant. The sink had been refinished at some past era but was now peeling... More

We were so excited to be able to stay at this historic hotel. Oh how naive!!! We went with another couple. It was very hot the day we arrived. The air conditioners in both rooms were very old and neither worked. The young man they sent to fix the air conditioners didn't know a thing about them. He set the... More
