My husband & I, both architects, stayed for 2 nights several weeks ago. I had fallen in love with photos of the building back when it was built 20 - 25 yrs ago, an award winning design. I was very excited to have the opportunity to stay here, and was not disappointed. Different from your average hotel, with hardwood floors... More

This was my second stay at the Inn. For a relaxing change of pace for business travelers or a romantic stay for two, you can't pick a better location in the Charleston area. Unwind with a book in one of the numerous hammocks, or a glass of wine at the lodge overlooking the Ashley River...just can't beat it! That is... More

This place is really nice!! It is a bit pricy, but you are not paying just the hotel, you are also paying the gardens. The rooms are great, decoration is also very fancy (wood style). The area is huge. Besides the hotel, you can also access the gardens, animal area, etc. Breakfast was a bit disappointing... the restaurant room is... More

Room rates always include the incredible value of Middleton Place’s House Museum guided tour, the Plantation Stableyards and Oldest Landscaped Gardens left in America! The Healthy Start breakfast offers homemade granola, yogurt, fresh baked breads, assorted cereal and whole fruit. We do offer a cooked-to-order breakfast for purchase and all items are available al-la-carte as well, as this guest states.... More

After reading varied reviews, I wasn’t sure want to expect upon are arrival. Disappointed I was not. If you are looking for a 5 star Ritz Carlton experience, this is not for you. It is exactly what the Inn conveys itself to be – a lovely rustic setting on a large piece of property boarding the Ashley River and part... More

We spent three nights of our honeymoon here. We had stayed a few times prior to that and had a good experience. Fair warning, it is quite rustic but we knew that from our previous stays and aimed for that experience. The Plantation in walking distance with free admission was outstanding and we loved it. The Charleston style garden tub... More

It is unfortunate, that after previous good stays as this guests states that such a mishap occurred. Unfortunately this was not a situation I was made aware of, nor is it one I have had to deal with before. I encourage this guest to contact me directly to discuss, and I can go over the steps taken since December (when... More

We spent a couple nights at the Inn at Middleton Place in mid-March. Everything was exceptional from the simple continental breakfast at the Lake House in the morning to the evening beer and wine reception. Our room was simple but large, clean, and unique. Fireplaces in each room. Large bathrooms with huge vanities and tubs. We enjoyed the gardens which... More

The photos on the Inn's website look a lot better than reality. Maybe part of the problem was that we arrived after dark, the check-in building was empty with a "back in 5 minutes" sign on the door. After more than 10 minutes and several unanswered phone calls, someone finally appeared from within and gave us our keys. Lighting in... More

My wife and I made reservations at the Inn for our 7th wedding anniversary. We were unable to make reservations in downtown Charleston because we were a little late doing so and the Inn was one of the few places that had an open room at such short notice. We had our reservations about staying that far away from the... More

It is all about expectations. If you were expecting the Ritz Carlton, forget it you did not pay nearly enough. It has spacious, rustic rooms with lots of built-ins. It was very clean, but a little worn. Each room has a glass wall overlooking woods or river. Terrific location with paths through the woods and benches overlooking the Ashley River.... More
