My second time to stay at the King George and still love it. If you want to experience Charleston this is the bed and breakfast to try. The house is an old historic one with modern conveniences. All is very clean and run most efficiently by Charlene (the manager). She is definitely the heart and soul of the Inn -... More

Lovely, historic property well priced with a miniscule parking lot (don't get there late). Room was nicely decorated, clean but the window air conditioner was overworked and could not keep the hot, humid air circulated. Location was a bit north of sites but very close to the free trolley (DASH). Be alert...one night the trolley never came to the stop... More

we got SO lucky, to receive notice from Debra as soon as there was a cancellation. And boy, did those people miss out! The room was 1C (ground floor w/ a private entrance) and it could not have been any better for us. Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted by Charlene - and as great as the inn was, she... More

We book King George IV to give us a central place to our daughters wedding and reception in downtown Charleston. We were welcomed by Charlene in an extremely nice way on our arrival and Charlene offered and helped us to get many packages and bags into our rooms. Through the five days there the ladies, and Debra and Terry were... More

wonderful old home, room was large with AC, breakfast was good but not great. one draw back was that they have no living area to hang out with other guests. they turned it all into rooms. location is nice, right in the middle of downtown, though no view from their balconies--just a parking lot.

King George IV Inn staff is all wonderful. They make you feel at home and are very helpful in suggesting activities as well as dinning options. We would highly recommend this inn to stay at for a wonderful B&B experience.

My husband and I had a fabulous stay at the King George IV Inn. We stayed in two different rooms at the inn; both spacious, comfortable and decorated beautifully. Though it is in an ideal location (half block to the trolley, half way between busy King Street and Meeting Street, and walking distance to dozens of restaurants, the inn itself... More

My daughter and I have had the pleasure of three stays at the King George IV Inn, and hope for many more. It's charming, very well located and we love Debra, Terry and Charlene. They are so generous with the personal attention they offer- that they feel more like friends than hotel proprietors. That's such a gift when you're traveling.... More

Hotels are so sterile; cookie cutter style. If you want concierge with knowledge, great guidance and first hand knowledge stay at King Geo. Personal attention and guest interaction are the hallmarks of B&B's but Terry and Charline are the poster children and take it to the level of surpass. Debra works endlessly in the background too making the operation and... More

My wife and I spent six nights in two different rooms at the King George IV and enjoyed it very much. Location is excellent though not in the heart of Historic Charleston. Beds were comfortable, rooms were large, hosts were nice and Charlene was especially helpful. The property does have off street parking for guests which really helps too. A... More
