The staff and the room were excellent! The location is amazing... We had an afternoon tea which was really good. There is a parking on-site, which is convenient.. and the staff let you leave the car parked for extra hours (before you check-in and after you check-out) so you can walk around Charleston and enjoy it without worrying about parking!... The Inn has agood location and the room was OK. But,we, who like to get info off the Web, we're sorely disappointed. It couldn't be done from our room out back. Moreover, the bed was uncomfortable and the breakfast not as good as a Day's Inn in Montana. We recommend spending a few extra dollars and get a real B... More

Really enjoyed our stay at the Inn which is convient to the historic area of Charleston. As a previous reviewer commented we arrived around 10am and were able to park our car and start our day of touring the city. Place is old but that will happen when you stay in a home that was built innthr 1700s. Bathrooms are... More

I loved the location and the guest parking. We arrived early and were allowed to park our car and wander around the city and check in later in the afternoon. The food was good, especially the muffins in the morning. The inn was clean and well kept. The room was also clean. Yes there were some blemishes on the wall... More

My husband and I stayed at the Barksdale House for our 20th anniversary. After reading some of the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect but we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was welcoming when we arrived, our room was nice, and the continental breakfast had a good selection to choose from. As for the afternoon treat, they were... More

The positives are :good location, guest car parking and reasonable breakfast. Sadly the building and the staff are in need of some TLC and some updating. We were driving from Atlanta and we rang ahead to confirm our arrival time and to ensure that we would not be dumped in the worst room in the place as we would be... More

I found it charming and comfortable. It's not luxury lodging but well-priced for what it offers. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. The location was convenient for my visit. There are so many similar places in Charleston that I might try another next time but all in all, the Barksdale Inn was fine with me.

The Barksdale is convenient and the rooms are spacious. The breakfasts were good but served buffet style. There is not a sitting room to relax or meet with the other guests. The tables are set up like a hotel and did not promote interaction among the guests. The staff were helpful like a concierge in a hotel. The facilities are... More

Stayed here in mid-May for 4 weekday nights in a room on the third floor. The room was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. Dusting could have been a little more thorough, however.Location was excellent for catching free trolley and stopping by the Visitor Center. I thought the place good value for the quality/ambience offered. Continental breakfast was available... More
