My wife and I have been staying at the Sandy Shore several times a year for 15 years. We have not had a bad experience yet. I think the negative reviews I see here are based on expectations. This is not a concrete hotel run by a corporate chain. I like those hotels too. But this is a family owned... More

The place is on the beach, I'll give it that. We paid the ridiculous price for the private suite upstairs. The next morning we're laying in bed in our underwear with the window open (it's supposed to be a private area) and a guy walks by. I freaked out and closed the window. We got dressed and looked outside to... More

I apologize for any inconvenience that you may have had. None of our rooms come with a private balcony or deck. The decks are public and will have people walking by them at anytime to get to their room or the stairs. Unfortunately it is the way that our Motel is set up and cannot be avoided. We also have... I went to Misquamicut beach for a weekend get together with my military buddies. After we found a parking spot, we checked in. As we carried up our luggage you could hear the stairs squeeking as if they were going to break. There were a bunch of underage girls in the room next to us that were hammered ALL night... More

I can assure everyone that our stairs will not break. We have to have multiple site inspections before every season to ensure that our building is up to code, and all necessary repairs are done before getting our Hotel License for the season. As for underage girls, we only rent rooms to individuals over the age of 21. If in... More

We pre-booked this hotel for two different weekends over the 2012 season (one in June, one in July). When we arrived in June for the 1st weekend, there was construction of the "Oyster Bar" going on. NO place to park, and the wonderful sounds of backhoes from 7AM - 10PM!!!!! Water poured under our door when it rained!! We complained... More

This trip was an adult family vacation. We rented the 2 bedroom apartment. The dishes in the cabinet were like someone rinsed them off and put them back in. One spoon really didn't cut it. Good thing we brought disposable items. We ended up cleaning before becoming comfortable. In the magazine it was advertized as having an oyster bar, serving... More

We were approved earlier this year to build a restaurant directly on our beach. We feel that once completed it would be a great amenity to offer our guests. Unfortunately, construction wasn’t executed as planned and we were forced to halt operations due to the approaching season and to better serve our guests. Construction of the restaurant will be completed... More

Checked in on a Friday evening, had a one bedroom apartment on the top floor. Was greeted by Mike, the security man, when we pulled in and directed to a parking spot. Andrea checked us in - smooth as silk. Room was large, comfortable and clean, especially considering the location right on the beach. We had Unit A5, which has... More

Just speant a long weekend at Sandy Shore Motel. The excellect weather made up for the dissappointing accomadations. We had a room for 4 on the 3rd. floor, paid over $1000.00 for 3 nights that was definately not worth the money. A room for 4 with 2 stained, cigarette burned chairs that I wouldn't sit on without a towel on... More

Stayed one night with my husband & 2 daughters because we were longing for the ocean, and SS was the only hotel on a beach we could find.
