Excellent place for weekend trip to the ocean. Conveniently located steps from the dockyard. No need for car, can easily walk to food ,shopping and beach. Views of the harbour at dinner are very memorable. Only down side was no airconditioners in hotel. Suggest getting a corner room for extra windows and breeze from the ocean, money well spent.

We just returned from our first trip to BI. The Ferry package was a great value. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Our room - queen corner on the 2nd floor was very nice. No complaints and we would be happy to stay at the National again.

The hotel looks grand from the street and also from the water as we arrived by sailboat. The grounds are lovely in back of the hotel with plenty of seating on the lawn as well as the back porch. The hotel is fine. Don't have anywhere to sit to look at the ocean. Rooms overpriced. Dinner and breakfast very good. I would not stay over on Block Island again. Was bored.

Breakfast on the porch of the Natioal Hotel should be on your schedule whether you stay there or not. Lovely port view, great service and decent food.
