The furnishings were charming and added to the nostalgia of an old hotel but the cleanliness exceeded many newer properties. My floor was actually swept each day!. Fodd was superb! The best prime rib and classy restaurant with more than reasonable prices. Staff was accomodating and professional.Easyparking. Some berber carpeting in the rooms with a few moiuntain scenery pictures would only... More

I love the Penn-Wells Hotel. I've been going there, once a year, for years. This is the authentic small town road warrior pit stop from the 1920s, 1930s, etc. More recently I attended a number of group annual meetings there and it is a great place to meet and greet. Lastly, my wife and I stayed here on a bicycle... More

This was my first stay in the hotel. My room was small, but I was traveling alone so it wasn't a big deal. There was a shelf that made it difficult for me to walk around to the other side of the bed and I'm short, so a taller person would've had more trouble. The bed was fairly comfortable (a... More

If you are looking for an old, historic hotel, this is the place for you. Lobby is elegant and charming, but a little worn. The fireplace and bar area is nice and reminds one of days gone by. The room I stayed in was small, with a double bed, desk, dresser, nightstand, and then a tiny bathroom. If this hotel... More

We spent the night at the Penn Wells Hotel on New Years Eve 2011-12. We had a package deal, which ended up being about $90/person. That price included the room, a dinner buffet, New Year's party later that evening that included a live band, hats, noise makers, snacks on the table, & champagne toast, then a breakfast buffet the following... The Lodge addition/renovation is definitely under construction right now, so the lobby is crammed into a former guest room, and you have to enter the pool/fitness area from the outside. However, the staff is friendly and helpful, our room is clean, spacious, and comfortable, and parking was fine. We appreciated having a mini fridge in our room too. There are... More

I've stayed at the Lodge several times when the prices where cheaper. Now since they think they need to price rooms like its some hot vaction spot I think I've stayed my last. I wonder if they thought about what they will do once all the gas well drilling has completed and the people have moved on. The tourist may... More

We've been coming here for more than a decade and during that time, not much has changed including freshening up the carpets. I was very sad to see this year a big price increase - I guess in response to the fracking operations. Unfortuately, us tourists have to pay for the towns "gold" rush, and that rush has severely decreased... More

If you are looking for a spacious room with modern updates this is not the place for you. The rooms are small and the bathroom even smaller, but the atmosphere is great. The lobby has a wonderful fireplace and a terrific sitting area. The lounge has delicious snack food on the menu and another crackling fireplace. The homey atmosphere induces... More
