This is a terrific place for rail fans and everyone else. Close to Altoona, horsecurve curve, and the Gallitzin tunnels. Stony Point is filled with history. The house has the feel of a mansion. In fact it was built by and executive of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Some of the structural elements of the house actually comes from recycled railroad rolling... More

Tyrone is my hometown, but I now live in Cleveland. My husband & I decided to have an intimate wedding with my parents on 9/21/11 in Tyrone. Our Cleveland friends and family wanted to attend our wedding, as well. OK, but where will 16 of us stay? I went online to find "Hotels near Tyrone" and Stoney Point popped up.... More

Paul has done a fantastic job of restoring the building into the best hidden spot in all of Tyrone. He knows the property very well and is willing to do what ever it takes to accommodate to his guests. I suggest that if you are from out of town, or a local and want to have quiet, peaceful weekend away... More

My family was hunting for a place to stay during PSU graduation weekend. We were going to have some of our family there and my son's fiancee's family. Our family ended up renting all 4 rooms in the main house and Paul (the innkeeper) allowed us to invite everyone else over for a buffet dinner and drinks. This was a... More

The purpose of our trip to Tyrone was to provide Celtic music and Irish dance for the Tyrone Irish Festival. We are a family band of 9 from South Eastern PA, and call ourselves the Celtic Martins. Besides looking forward to the hometown feel of Tyrone and its festival, we were excitedly anticipating our return for the second year in... More

We stayed at Stony Point for our son's graduation from Penn State. It is geographically close - less than 1/2 hour to State College. It is a world away from crazy loud uncomfortable hotels where you are squashed with strangers. My family took all the bedrooms in the main house. It is just lovely. Paul helped us to feel comfortable... More

This is a great place to stay and Paul is the best innkeeper we've met among the B&Bs we stayed in from coast to coast over the last 2-3 decades. It felt like a welcoming comfortable stay with a friend. This is the place I will pick to stay when I visit family in the area in the future. Thanks... More

Our host Paul was ready to handle all our needs - from a variety of ages in our group to dietary requirements. Such a fantastic house with an interesting history. Highly recommended.

Myself and several other railroad industry professionals stayed at Stony Point before attending a conference in Philadelphia. This was a great place to stay, as it allowed us to visit the Horseshoe Curve and several other railroad historical sites over the weekend. We enjoyed the fact that Stony Point B&B has some railroad history of its own, as it was... More

Last week my husband and I were guests at Stony Point for three nights, and for the most part had the place to ourselves. What a great experience, and Paul was such a wonderful host! He made us feel right at home and treated us like friends. Stony Point is a beautiful, and well kept place. The history and details... More
