If you need to be in the Oakland area, or right upon the University, this is a fabulous location, and fairly easy to navigate from around the general downtown area. This hotel just recently changed flags from Wyndham to Hilton Garden inn, and it has been remodeled. Valet parking, otherwise you have to chance it with very expensive meters. Very... More

Alright hotel to sleep at.... But, as other reviewer said, no air escape in the bathroom. Valet ONLY parking at a mid-scale hotel? Give me a break. I can park my car, thank you. Stay away from the on-site restaurant. I was told by a coworker that it used to be good prior to renovation, but heard mixed results since.... More

I recently stayed at this hotel while attending an athletic event for my children. The hotel is under MAJOR renovations. All floors, lobby, hallways you name it is being worked on. It's basically a mess and extremely noisy. Our team was constantly being caught in the elevators. Not good with small children, very scary. When we asked to take the... More

Stood here 2 nights in early Nov for the Bruce Springsteen concert at Soldiers & Hall. Was close in walking distance to venue, which is important when u are walking at 1 AM in the morning back from show . Had one of the newly renovated rooms it was clean. Walls were thin as we heard the people next door... More

I needed a room for one night as I was having surgery the next day. We are Wyndham Point members and had more than enough points for one night--my husband travels for work and has stayed at a Wyndham property around 140 days this past year. Reviews were not great, so I called and discussed with Wyndham Rewards the possibilities.... More

Well, we knew things were not going to go well when the Wyndam near the Pitt campus raised the rates for some odd reason (our daughter is a senior at Pitt and we visit often). Guess it was the Turkey Day grab. Anyway, the place has been undergoing renovations for a long time (it's also changing hands, I believe, to... More

When we arrived, the Wyndham looked creepy - scaffolding around the outside, construction crews smoking in front of the entrance, and the gloomy Pittsburgh weather didn't help. Our first night was in a renovated room that wreaked of cigarette smoke in the bathroom and off-gassing carpet in the bedroom. After tossing all night, we requested another room, and the front... My husband and I were visiting our daughter for Parents weekend at Pitt, we chose this hotel because of the close location. To be fair, the hotel was under renovation so you have to cut them some slack. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. That being said, the rooms are very small and crowded. The bed... More

Stayed here one night in October 2011. Arrived late, left after breakfast the next morning. Creepy lobby. OK room but (the room was very recently renovated, which made it OK -- I can't imagine what pre-renovation looked like). The staff was very nice. Yes it's under renovation, and maybe once its renovated the world will be a wonderful place and... More

I stayed here for two nights on business. Pros are the great location with many nearby eateries, the shuttle (within 3 miles), the price and the bed that I had was really quite comfortable. That's about where the pros end. The cons were the smell of paint mixed with the smell of mold, generally shabby appearance of the room, no... More
