The room was good and the bed comfortable. The place is what it says it is - 3.5 star. The manager, Troy, was helpful and affable, and the rest of the staff friendly. The rooms were basic and essentially clean. This is a low brow place with a high brow price. The other reviews say it all. VERY poorly run. The River Inn is a badly run place. The staff seem to be unsupervised, not really committed to customer service. The bar staff don’t know sparkling wine or have no idea what a dry white wine is. We stayed in a twin room (Room 4) at the River Inn as part of the Oz Snow Adventure package. The organisation and service from Oz Snow Adventures is without fail second year in a row excellent and I would highly recommend it if you want no fuss and everything taken care of. The River Inn was right in the middle of the snowfields and more importantly the lifts. No catching a bus to go miles to go skiing. All facilities were there including a restaurant.
