I had just read all of the reviews for this place (unfortunatley AFTER I had the misfortune of staying here) and there seems to be a theme...... RUDE RECEPTION STAFF and friendly helpful cleaning staff. Some reviews mention a a nice reception staffer named Kylie.... I wish to name and shame the hostile and rude reception staff. Why should MEGAN... More

We were put in the "cabin" that is attached to the office so had the "joy" of the noise of telephones & conversation in the office, people peering in our rooms as they passed by & woken by people stomping up to the office, right by our bedroom window, and it certainly meant we didnt sit out and relax on... The sticky table and coffee table, ants in the kitchen, everthing a bit tired and dated. Love to know where everyone else got the breakfast basket! Never saw one of those. The pool was good.

The "managers" of this "retreat" are in the wrong industry! Never mind that they made a mistake with our booking. I don't mind when people make mistakes, we all do. It's how we deal with the mistake that matters. I never saw one smile from either "manager" for our whole stay. When the business ABN did not appear on our... More

We also purchased the Scoopon as it is relatively close to family. We organised 3 nights mid week but didnt spend a lot of time in the resort, mainly just nights. As others have mentioned, the cabins while spacious are very dated and the colour blue throughout was very cold feeling. The cabin always smelt musty as soon as you... More

My family bought 2 vouchers (from scoopon) costing over $300 dollars for this holiday resort. I over looked the date required to book the accommodation but the actual voucher itself was still valid. I was hoping to still go (for a week) and not receive the 'special rates' advertised through scoopon. I simply wanted a credit for the $320 'colonial... More

Like many others, purchased a Scoopon and after several conversations with an extremely rude receptionist, unable to secure a weekend booking and reading a lot of unfavourable comments, we were close to putting the scoopon purchase as a bad call and not worth the annual leave However our time at Colonial Ridge surpassed our expectations - the chalet was very... A relatively cheap place to stay in an otherwise pricey area. The accommodation is pretty basic - lots of white walls and industrial carpet. It is practical though and suited our needs. It can be a bit noisy with some cabins partying into the night. It would be so much better if they introduced some colour into the cabins, or... More

I stayed here over the easter weekend. The only reason we picked this was it was a last minute booking and all other accommodation in the area was booked out including Nelson Bay etc. so we took a pun. The cottages are quite spacious but the decor is very dated, almost embarrasingly. They are very basic with no frills. They... More

I recently returned from a weekend at this resort and had a great time. We were given a $169 scoupon deal for xmas and we able to get the date we wanted by upgrading to a deluxue cabin for an addtional $40 per night. Agree this place is a bit old, however the cabin was spacious and clean. The breakfast... More
