We stayed at Ruskin House for 3 nights in Oct 2011. It is a lovely place. Great room and breakfast. It is just the right distance from Byron Bay centre. easily walkable in 5/10 mins and offers a peaceful stay. Gavin was really helpful with local knowledge. Would really recommend. And free wi fi.
