You couldn't find a nicer , more friendly host and hostess than Linda and Phil. The muffins were to die for and far surpassed those bought at a down town cafe. I couldn't wait for the 2nd breakfast! Clean comfortable suite and a large kitchen for all guests to use. Close enough to the beach and shops but far from... More

Was just such a great place to stay... we booked for two nights and couldn't leave so stayed a third! Might have had something to do with the freshly baked muffins for breakfast each morning. Planula is small with only a handful of rooms but each have their own uniquely designed privacy. At first I was a touch nervous about... More

had most excellent stay here for one night - clean bright rooms and fresh sheets and stuff; room is spacious enough, and there's a groovy bay window seat platform thing which was fun. bathroom/ shower was nice and water is hot! can't compare it to anything cause i haven't really stayed anywhere like it. heaps of timber (construction), and in... 5/5 on all criteria. The retreat has a supply of mozzie coils and aerogard, and my sis brought her own repellent, so mozzies are NOT a problem, like I expected them to be. Great location..close enough to all the action, without the noise. Hot water a godsend after a long day. Nicely designed, clean rooms. Communal kitchen and lounge are... More

We had a great stay! The staff couldn't be friendlier, the hot tub is amazing, breakfast and juice included. Will stay again!

This place is so good. I've been annually at Easter for the last 3 years. Tim and Wandy are fabulous hosts. The guest house is separate from the main house, and has 5 very comfortable guest rooms - all with at least double accommodation (or can be adjusted to suit families or twin beds) and ensuite. There is also a... More

Great accomodation if your looking for something basic. Breakfast was not overly extensive but the fresh baked bread in the mornings was delicious. A beautiful location set in the bushes and only a very short (3min) drive to town. The hosts are fantastic people who will do anything and go out of their way to help you have a fantastic... More

If you're making the effort to travel to Australia you really need to try things which you wouldn't normally do on holiday. Staying at the Planula Retreat offers exactly that, something completely different, something away from the ordinary. This is not your typical 4 star hotel with sea views, heated swimming pools, repetitive food and over priced drinks. This is bed... More

We stayed here in january 2012 and found the property to be tranquil but quite remote and therefore quite a distance from Byron bay town centre. Although we enjoyed our stay here we found it quite expensive (£160.00) a night for a shared house. We enjoyed the bike hire and the bbq which is available to guests as well as... More

Planula is a wonderful retreat just over 3 kilometres away from the centre of Byron Bay. This means that even at busy times we can still offer our guests a relaxing get-away a short car drive or 10 minute bike ride away from the excitement of Byron Bay. As mentioned in the review these guests stayed in January which is... More

A short drive from Byron Bay, but very peaceful, and surrounded by tropical jungle, this is a perfect place to unwind. Hosts are welcoming and very helpful. We have had a great few days of doing nothing apart from listen to the tree frogs.
