I stayed here for a night after a bad experience with other accommodation in Byron Bay. Location is perfect. Close to shops and to beach, but away from the heavy traffic along the main roads. I had a room set back a bit from the street. The room was quiet, spacious and clean. Just one quibble. I booked through Wotif,... More

The Hibiscus Motel itself is probably not much different to any other motel in Byron bay - except that the owners were fantastic, I felt like I was staying with friends as opposed to at a motel. The location is ideal, being only a block or two away from the restaurants, the beach and the mini-mart you're just close enough... More

We arrived late in the evening during heavy rainfall. The motel's location is perfect if you want to becentrally located. The room was properbut would benefit from renovation. For this price you get much nicer and more modern rooms with much better facilities just a little further out.

We stayed for one night at Hibiscus motel. It was clean, a bit old-fashioned but Ok. The beds were comfortable. The location was perferct only a few blocks from beach and town. What we liked most about the motel was that thre was a jazz radio available from cable TV for listening to good music. The rest of the TV... More

I love places like this - they remind me of childhood holidays in the 70's and 80's traipsing around the countryside. If you want state of the art, designer chic stay somewhere else (and pay a much higher price - Byron is the most expensive country town in Australia I reckon). The host was a very affable gent who was... More

I stayed two nights at the Hibiscus Motel in Byron Bay during October 2011. The hotel's location is fantastic, being on the edge of the shopping area and one block from Main Beach. I would classify Hibiscus as a "typical NSW Country Motel" and, while the rooms do look a little tired, at the special internet double room rate I... More

Ok... so you read this stuff and find out that people have different tastes and stuff.. agreed. We needed one night in Byron Bay and found this place... I wish we had stayed here for more nights... The motel is clean, basic, but amazingly friendly and has a 1960s type charm which is refreshing and simple. A nice walk to... More

We only stayed for one night... although room was simple yet clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to all shops/bars/restaurants! Great value!
