We stayed over the June long weekend, in a four bed ensuite dorm. The room was amazing for a hostel, we had a brand new bathroom and a balcony. The room had just been refurbished and was looking a million bucks!! Great party atmosphere!

In summary: location is phenomenal (two bottle shops, Aldi right next door), staff were great, rooms excellent. I stayed at Nomads Byron Bay for one night with a group of 10 people. I stayed in the 6 dorm room with ensuite with 4 other people. We wanted the ensuite as it was mostly girls staying in the room and we... More

This hostel really wasn't my thing and I wouldn't stay again but that's just because it's not the sort of backpackers I tend to stay at. I prefer smaller places that have a bit more of an atmosphere. It's great if you're staying in a group and want somewhere central to stay and party in Byron but for me it... More

Stayed here with a group of friends. Definitely a big party hostel, filled with 20 something people (myself included). Super loud on the weekends but a good vibe. Felt very safe. Great front of the house staff. Great location, minutes to the beach. Aldi food store around the corner & a bottle shop on either side of the hostel (the... More

Stayed here on 2 separate occasions a year apart, and both times for just over a week. Got to say, as with some of the other newer large Nomads, such as Nomads Queenstown, they are very well organized, as in the check in staff, cleaning of the rooms etc. The facilities are top notch, very good toilets and showers, kitchen... Good point: Clean rooms. Actaully managed to get some sleep at night. Staff seemed very well organised. Bad points: Too expensive, not much going on, couple of dudes walking around with their tops off showing their tattoos giving people an awkward eye, possibly the worst pool table ive ever seen in my life, there was a serious collection of stains... I stayed at Nomads in 2010 and it was nothing special. Just a big clinical hostel with no atmosphere. My stay in 2013 was a lot better, the people seemed nicer - it was easy to make friends. There are daily activities like "walk to the lighthouse" or quizzes which is a great way to meet people if you are... More

This has to be one of the best hostels I have stayed at! It was lots of fun and very central! It's full of backpackers who are all friendly and up for fun. There is something organised everyday which makes it easier to chat with others and meet other travellers. They have a great travel desk who are always willing... More

Do not stay here if you want to be able to relax in the evenings or if you don't like loud drunk people! Very noisy and from 8 pm each night it's basically impossible to sit anywhere in the common room as everyone's playing drinking games and taking up all the room, staff were friendly, toilets and showers were always... Situated right in the centre of the town, great facilities, lots of activities and clean big rooms with ensuite and balcony. Friendly, helpful staff. downside was having to pay for internet. Lots of information available and fast booking service for trips.
