Manitowaning Lodge is a little golden nugget on the south east end of Manitoulin Island. Unfortunately it has been closed now for several years. Hopefully someone will scoop this place up and have it up and running again.

Excellent resort, great food... TV's, phones and faxes is not what this resort is about. it is about a 5 star resort in the wilderness of Northern Ontario.

We stayed here for one night and what a big rip off! It is mutton dressed as lamb and very expensive. We stayed in the cheapest room which cost $135 CDN per person. Sure that includes a meal which was just mediocre - nothing spectacular. But the room had no television, no air conditioning, and thin walls as we heard... More
