Peter was always helpful, offering local knowledge on where to visit and eat; resulting in a lovely train ride from St Austell to St Ives. Would happily recommend the Elms as a place to stay, especially if visiting the Eden Project, as it is so close.

Travelling solo i opted to stay in the annex which is situated at the rear of the guest house and is a nice quite location,all amenities catered for in the room but a low ceiling so beware if you are 6 foot plus.Breakfast is taken in a lovely conservatory with a good selection all served promptly by the hosts peter... Used local public transport to have days out at various locations in Cornwall. Siuated 10 minute walk to public transport. Cosy friendly atmosphere. Attention to detail e.g. breakfast table. Prompt and friendly service. Free internet access in sitting room. Small bar in sitting room if you wish to have a drink in the evening

We are regular visitors to St Austell and have stayed in several guest houses in the vicinity. This is by far the best with Peter and Nuth being excellent hosts. The rooms are all spotlessly clean and very comfortable with lots of thoughtful extras. Their breakfasts are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. We will certainly be staying there... More
