what a fabulous experience this stay was. The owners and staff were exceptionally welcoming both to us and our dogs. We arrived very early for check and this was not a problem we were shown to our room which was quaint clean and tidy with coffee tea and yummy hot chocolate, the bathroom was the same with thoughtfully provided soaps... Just had a lovley few days at the Aggie, would like to thank the staff and locals for making our time there so lovely. Hotel and Rooms are clean fresh and inviting with lovely views over the village. Food was great especially the sweet chillie crab claws with noodles mmmm. Mollie the dog welcomes all, this hotel is excellent for... More

Really just ok. Yes they were friendly but the entrance to the accommodation area was dingy and not very welcoming. Accommodation was clean, sufficient and ok but not an experience in any way. We had three days here and it was probably one day too much. Nice small village but not much happening at our time of year.

Have stayed at the hotel most years over the last 10 or so. The current family running the place are a friendly bunch and the breakfast you get is fantastic. The rooms can vary in terms of decor but all are clean and if you enjoy the bar as much as I, you will spend very little time in the... More

Just got back from the St Agnes and I must comment on the hotel. We had the room commented upon by uigsky and I honestly cannot understand what the problem was. The room overlooks the lovely old church across the road and is very quiet as it is on the top floor. The stair case in the hotel runs sideways... More

We recently returned from a wonderful stay at the Aggie. The staff and owners were very welcoming and our room was lovely. It was actually exactly the same room shown in some of the pictures on this site and although I appreciate that everyone is entitled to their opinion, we found the room to be very welcoming, clean and most... Lovely location for some great walks and views. Basic but very comfortable and well equiped rooms, although some parts of the building are a little 'tired'.To be honest, we feel this adds to the ambience of the place as it has an incredibly relaxed approach but manages to accomodate all kinds of needs.Dog friendly, good food, live music and the people... We stayed one night at the St Agnes Hotel – thank goodness it was only one night. The whole hotel is grubby and smells of Jeyes fluid. The stairway leading to our room was like climbing the stairs to a grubby bedsit, with dirty floors / carpet and grubby walls. The room was tired, dank and very unwelcoming. We will... More

Had to go to the Aggie to meet up with the family for a funeral... have to say that Bill the landlord was excellent and kept all our spirits high... fabulous atmosphere, locals really friendly and they even organised that we could watch the Rugby Cup early in the morning with a lovely cooked breakfast. Food is good, staff are... More

Just got back from a 2 night stay at the St Agnes hotel. I was there with my sisters and cousins for an improvised family reunion (to attend a funeral of a dear aunt). St Agnes hotel became not only a place to sleep but a focal point during the last 48 hours as we also had the wake there... More
