On the lodging side this hotel is excellent. The staff are happy, friendly and keen to help. Our room was beautiful in every respect, though oddly for a 'French' hotel it lacked a bidet. The views of the Thames are wonderful from some rooms, a pretty terrace and the dining room. The Waterside Inn is a game of two halves,... More

Quite simply the level of service and the efforts to please of all the staff are of the highest quality whilst still putting you at ease. Nothing is too much trouble and the food of course was exceptional. The room was elegant and sophisticated but this is a restaurant principally with rooms not a hotel, it was the most wonderful... We stayed here on the signature experience! The room we had and the reception were excellent and everything up to the meal was faultless! Then we sat down! We were served by staff that appeared to be nothing but aloof and disinterested! We highlighted this to the maitre de and were greeted with a shrug of the shoulders and an... More

I've reviewed Waterside Inn before. We were there again last week. It is simply lovely. They also have a comfortable room for private dinners.......I once saw H M Queen Elizabeth and family going in. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks and the river view on the terrace or sit in the gazebo if it's chilly. Even better, take a pre-lunch/dinner trip in their... More

I was part of a group of six, invited for lunch by one in our party who was celebrating his 50th birthday. From the moment we walked in the service could not be faulted. We were given a perfect table by the window. Everything elegant and beautiful and understated but also stunning. This has to one of the best meals... More

This was my second visit to the temple of Roux. I went last year in the summer and it was my meal of the year. Could this one be better? It took us about 2 hours door to door which wasn't too bad considering the wife would drive back. So dressed in our best we turned up to be greeted... More

We stayed one night for a double celebration, were lucky enough to have an upgraded room overlooking the Thames and the service was impeccable. If you can afford it (or even if you can't) stay the night here. If you're a bird-watcher take your binoculars (I didn't and really regretted it). We arrived by motorcycle and the staff apologised for... More

If you have something to celebrate or simply wish to have an outstanding meal then The Waterside is definitely worth visiting. The food and the service where both of the very highest quality and Alain Roux is an excellent host as well as a marvellous chef. The attention to detail and the complexity of the dishes are fully deserving of... More

This is by far my favourite restaurant. Over the years we have returned, not as often as we would have liked and not once have we ever been disappointed. Now living in Devon another favoured restaurant is run by a former protege of Michel Roux Sr. This is fine dining at its best. I took my late husband there for... More
