Excellent pub with rooms. If you forget something, tooth brush razor etc. Don't worry as it is all there. Great value good honest food served in the pub. Timothy Taylor beers. Dave and Jeanette are as welcoming as ever, we have stayed there many times. Had a night in Hepden Bridge which has some good pubs as well.

We booked the Hare and Hounds for a two night break on the basis that they let you take your dog and also because it was out of the town and looked to be a peaceful area. Although the pub is at a crossroads, they are only minor roads and we never heard any traffic noise, it was very peaceful.... More

We have stayed in this beautiful old pub 3 times and have had a wonderful experience each time. Dave and Jeanette are excellent host's and they serve wonderful pub food. The accomadation is first class with everything provided for the length of your stay. A wonderful base to go exploring the beatiful Yorkshire countryside. A big hello to the 4... More

I stayed overnight recently, and was truly impressed. The service was very friendly, the rates very fair, and the room large, comfortable and meticulously clean. The cuisine was great, with a selection worthy of a restaurant rather than a pub. Obviously, the surroundings are beautiful, but the Hare & Hounds does not take the easy route and rely on this... A fantastic pub, with great food, lots of local knowledge and a fabulous welcome. I have been a few times, for a chill out weekend, site-seeing, romantic weekend, with friends, as a couple and on my own. I would highly recommend it. Cozy, clean and in an amazingly beautiful place.

Friendly pub, high up above Hebden Bridge, popular with dog owners, had a roaring fire when I visited. The room was very good value for this sort of thing, great breakfast. The only caveat is that they advertise having free internet, it's that sort of 'free' internet that makes you more personal information than any person should be prepared to... More

Our stay with Dave and Jeanette was a great experience. We received a lovely welcome, warm fires, great food and all very reasonable. We got a great sense of the local community, loved the welcome for visting dogs in the bar. This is a great 'inn' experience not to be missed if you are in the area. Some lovely touches... More

We spent three nights in this lovely pub on the moors! Our rooms were spotlessly clean comfortable and warm (it was snowing hard on the evening that we arrived!). The staff led by the hosts Dave and Jeanette were extremely friendly and nothing was too much bother for them. The pub offers really good real ale and good home cooked... More

Jeanette and David go the extra mile. Meticulous attention to detail. Little personal touches in the rooms make you feel wanted and at home. Excellent menu; quailty makes you want more. Well kept beer. Location and views stunning. Very good value for money. What more can you want? I will return. Mike Strawson

We stayed 4 nights in October. The Hare and Hounds is a friendly, cosy pub on a steep hill surrounded by dramatic Yorkshire views. We had a small double, ensuite room which was warm, clean and comfortable and wonderfully quiet at night! The owners are very friendly, relaxed and helpful and the food is good English pub food. The breakfasts have... More
