We used the Inn at Juniper Ridge as a jumping off point for a bike tour of the John Day Fossil Monument area. The taco soup dinner--followed by perfect chunks of cool watermelon got us fueled for a hard, hot ride the next day. We enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the glorious sweep of the land below. We tried to... More

Having had mixed experiences in the past with stingy B&B owners and less-than-charming "cozy" cabins, we had our reservations about trying another B&B, but the Inn and Juniper Ridge was beyond our expectations and of the most positive lodging experiences we have ever had. Our hosts were warm and inviting, offering us drinks when we arrived. We stayed in the... More

Most excellent experience...We enjoyed Mary's amazing taco soup the first night, and after traveling with a little one all day and arriving later than expected, it was the perfect home-cooked meal--to top it off, Norbert brought over brownies straight from the oven later! My wife and I could not believe how beautiful and peaceful it was up at Juniper Ridge.... More

An absolutely wonderful stay with friends. If you are looking to get away to a beautiful area of central Oregon, and a quiet and off the grid experience, you couldn't ask for more. We have known Mary and Norbert for over 20 years, and you could not expect more experienced and hospitable hosts. Escape to a 1000 acre setting with... More

Absolutely unique B&B experience. Can not think of a better setting or more accommodating and friendly hosts. Great place from which to explore an often overlooked part of Oregon. Adventures and views in all directions. Read the other reviews and book your stay.

The location is remote, with wonderful views of the mountains and hills. Mary and Norbert are interesting and nice people. The room is a separate cabin with bathroom, wood burning stove and small kitchen, so there is privacy. The breakfast was perfectly prepared. It was the perfect B & B experience.

If you are a hiker, stargazer, birdwatcher or history buff you will love this place. A few hours into your stay and you are living in the moment. Solitude, incredible dark skies, cozy but modern cabin, delicious breakfasts, llamas, Ace the wonder dog....oh! and did I mention the gracious and knowledgeable hosts, Mary & Norbert! We spent 3 nights and... More

We stayed for one night on a quick trip through the John Day Fossil Beds/Painted Hills area. We can't imagine there is a better place to stay in the area. The cabin was perfect, spacious and clean with a lovely western/cowboy motif. Mary and Norbert greeted us with a beverage upon arrival and ate breakfast with us the following morning.... More

It takes a special person to be a great innkeeper. Mary and Norbert, the innkeepers at Juniper Ridge are two very special people. The inn is located on a large rambling property, where you will spot wildlife and be filled with the peace that only a sprawling wild environment gives. We stayed in the cabin, that is separate from the... More

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn at Juniper Ridge just outside Mt Vernon. The air was fragrant with Juniper and the views over the Aldrich and Strawberry mountains were fantastic. Our hosts Mary and Norbert were outstanding, and very hospitable, inviting us to sit out on the deck of their house to watch the fierce thunderstorms rolling up... More
