We stayed at Wayne and Dottie's because my wife had stayed there as a girl, and had good memories of the trips. The "cabins" are truly an old motel. For $35 a night we had electricity, water, comfortable bed and a hot shower. On a hot night the swamp cooler was helpful. We found Dottie very welcoming and hospitable, and... More

Huntington itself isn't much to look at. "Downtown" is 3 blocks long, and whether or not the locals are friendly depends on how you're percieved. The largest building in town has an old advertisement for the now-defunct Clarks Cafe painted on it that proclaims "ALL WHITE HELP". It says a lot about the town that in all this time nobody... More
