Whether you are just going for just dinner and drinks, or a movie, or you are staying in one of their hotels overnight, a McMenamins property is a solid bet and this one is no exception. Like the Edgefield, this property has multiple areas to eat, drink, and relax with friends. We were there on a weekend in May and... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Lodge. Our room was very comfortable and economical. We loved the eclectic decor and the history written on the walls. The front desk staff were very helpful and entertaining. The setting was peaceful and relaxing. However, do yourself a favor and don't eat there. The food at the Ironworks Grill was barely edible... One of my favorite places in the summer, especially if you have friends visiting with kids. Outdoor eating with large expansive open lawn space for kids to play in nearby if you get a table on the perimeter so its easy tosee them and play with them. Also often great music out there. I dont reccomend staying overnight on a... More

European boutique feel to the hotel rooms. Under a 100 bucks so cheaper than RT taxi to forest grove. Very cool grounds with frisbee golf. Several bars with each their own personality. Not the strongest service but OK. Food is good with best value being Happy hour 3-6 and 10-close. Outdoor jacuzzi was a bit like highschool make out room... More

We just returned from a two night stay at McMenamin's Grand lodge from April 12th-14th 2012. I like a detailed review so I can know ahead of time what I'm getting into with a property or holiday so I'll attempt to be thorough. We've experienced Mcmenamin's Edgefield and Kennedy school properties but this was our first time at the Grand... More

My husband and I have stayed here several times. We have enjoyed the movies, concerts and smaller musical offerings. The rooms are great, the full bathrooms down the hall are fresh and clean. We have eaten in several different spots, including at the movie. The grounds are lovely, many outdoor places to enjoy.

The Grand Lodge is a hidden gem only 45 minutes from Portland. About 12 of us went there for the weekend to celebrate our friend's 30th birthday. There was so much to do that if we didn't want to drive anywhere, we wouldn't have needed to. But there were so many great wineries (David Hill, SakeOne, and more) in the... More

Starting your wine country tour at the Grand Lodge is a great idea. Three of us left Portland headed for McMinnville and began our day with breakfast at the Lodge. Fully carbo-loaded, we felt we'd laid an appropriate layer down for a day of tasting. Save time for a soak in the outdoor pool if you can, as visitors can... More

Yes, it is noisy. No, it isn't quite Edgefield with its amenities. But it is in a beautiful area near all of the Willamette wineries and it is a great escape. I love everything about this place, including the soaking pool, pool tables in the Dr.'s Office and all of the Mcmenamin's extra's like live music and movie nights. I... More
