I just stayed at the Grand Lodge Hotel in Forest Grove for a saturday night. The property was well kept and each bar was unique. The service by both hotel and restaurant staff was very good. My only real complaint is the hotel room itself. There is no air conditioning, no tv and no toilet/shower in the room. The bathroom... More

Thank you for your feedback on our hotel. I will share your comments with the management team at Grand Lodge and we will strive to improve. I am very happy to hear that the staff was friendly and that you enjoyed our bars. We will follow up on the cleanliness (we expect it to be very clean for our guests).... More

The Grand Lodge is a nice place to visit, but its not as funky and cool as Edgefield. There are numerous pubs and a soaking pool, but it doesn't have as many "hidey-holes" and neat secret places as Edgefield. Food is alright, not great, rooms are small but very comfortable. I really like the fact that there are no TV's.... More

I've stayed at the Grand Lodge before, but this time was truly awful, the worst hotel experience I've had in the last 15 years at least. Here are some of the things that went wrong: --I was in a basement room with no, as in zero, air circulation. The room was much hotter than either outside air or the hallway... More

Thank you for your feedback on your stay at the Grand Lodge. We are very sorry that your experience was not an enjoyable one. I will be following up directly on the issues with the wifi, heat in the room and lack of parking. It is true that there is no air conditioning but there are things we can do... More

We had never stayed at a McMenamins before but we go the movies all the time in the Bend, Oregon one. We checked in and the main bar was right at the entrance of the check in which was already very busy and loud. Our room was only a few doors down from this area on the same floor. We... More

With every inch of every wall painted with crazy mystical garbage, and every room named for a dead mason, I was completely creeped out. In Mozart room with painted explanation on walls of why and how he was murdered - yeah, real homey! No TVs in the room, no air, and outside my room a paining on the wall of... More

Stayed here on a Sunday night, which was very quiet with few guests. Rooms are nicely appointed, though small (hey, it's historic!). Had stayed previously in a King w/private bath - found that the private bath was not as nice as the common bathrooms. This time we stayed in a bunk bed room ($40/night on Sunday = cheap!). Unless you've... More

This hotel building is one to explore--there are so many fun nooks and crannies fill with McMenamins legendary art: historical paintings with whimsy, wrought iron light fixtures, hand painted borders (instead of moldings). The grounds are pleasant too, and several outdoor restaurants are delightful in the summer. Food is always good, if a bit slow in delivery.

We live nearby so I cannot comment on the rooms (though they seem to be in the middle of the hallways to every activity and must not be quiet with all the folks passing by!) but we love the food and the wait staff. We can take our children here without feeling like it is just a place for adults,... More

Stop 1, on our McMenamins mini tour. We arrived about two hours early due to Spa appointments but we were able to check right in, the front desk was very informative giving us a map of the property for some guided exploring and made sure to point out important info such as where all the bars were located. Stayed in... More

I've posted a previous review of the Grand Lodge in April 2012. I just returned from another mini escape there from January 12th to January 13 2013 for a single night. My first review was lengthy and detailed and some of the same observations apply, but a few things have changed that I think are noteworthy. I stayed with my... More
