We did not stay at the hotel, since we did not know about it, but plan on doing so next visit. We did walk through the lobby and learn the history of the hotel from very friendy, informed staff. We also had dinner in the bar. Since we are vegan, the kitchen made adjustment to accomodate our needs. The bar... More

My husband and I have stayed at The Lafayette about 2-3 times a year for the past several years. From our home it is about a 2 hour drive and makes a nice long weekend getaway. Over the years I have read the reviews for this hotel. We are at The Lafayette right now and thought I'd put in my... More

We have been staying at the Lafayette for several years when in the Marietta area. Nice historic hotel with good rates and good food, also have a bar. Being a historic hotel, some rooms are small. Recommend at least a queen room. The queen or king parlor rooms are very nice. Not many guests seem to know that they have... More

small rooms, needs updating, food not that great, screaming patrons from the bars across the street, city seems not to have an oridance on speeding up and down most traveled front street, unsafe as well as motorcycles sreeching up and around the hotel.... do yourself a favor -find a chain hotel in the area...will advise others not to stay.

The Lafayette Hotel in Marietta is filled with history and charm. It is an older hotel, but the desks and dressers are amazing! Old time charm aplenty. Heat is still radiator, so regulating is sometimes a problem. But everything is clean and the staff is very helpful. We had a view of the river, and it was great!

We took a 2 day trip just to get away for a couple of days. We had a great view of the Ohio riv er from our window. The hotel is older but I found it charming. Marietta is a great place to go if you are into history and rivers as they are at the confluence of two rivers,... More

We went to Ohio for a wedding weekend, and stayed in a room the size of a closet with the sink hovering over the toilet. It was not worth the $200 for 2 nights. On top of that I was charged for someone else's room on top of mine. So I am still on day four waiting for my refund... More

What a neat place to stay. It's an historic hotel so don't expect modern rooms. The rooms are clean, bed was comfy. The view of the Ohio river is beautiful. They have a rooftop patio where we sat and enjoyed the view even more. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel, both were excellent. The staff was wonderful.... More

This is a great old hotel full of charm and beauty. If you are looking for a huge room and all the amenities this isn't for you. The rooms are small but have antique beds and furniture. I'm not sure if they are reproductions or real antiques but very pretty. It is right on the river and it is very... More
