We had the unit suitable for disable people and it was excellent you couldn't ask for anything else. On arrival we got given milk which is only a little thing but a great touch after a long drive. If your looking for wheelchair friendly accommodation definately stay here.

Located a short walk from the centre of town. Very Clean and spacious. Lovely decor with little homely added touches. Friendly owners. Enjoyed our stay at Anchor Down.

Early in the day of a long standing reservation, when worried about our travel progress, we were told by Anchor Down that we 'were going to be charged for the room regardless',, and fair enough too, business is business. Well we pushed on intrepidly down an inappropriate road from Smithton to Strahan. Hours into the journey, and getting very tired... More

We are sorry to here you did not get to stay at Anchor Down Cottages, yes you were booked in and yes you phoned & cancelled, we did hold the room for a long time for you. After being caught before; we did not wish to take another risk; the phones are a real problem for hosts and guests alike... More

Strahan was nearly booked out when we made the reservation. Having read other reviews before booking we were a littlle apprehensive. No need, it was a lovely 3-night stay. The units were very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The hosts (Max and Annette) were very friendly and helpful, but there was certainly no sign of the "nosiness" that others seemed to... More

Max & Annie (the hosts) make it a holiday to remember. We stayed there with a group of seven people, and had booked 2 cottages. Max & Annie are extreamly friendly and helpful, they made you feel like part of the family. They were very knowelegable had some great advice about the area and things to do. The cottages were... These units are that big that you could throw a party in them. I would recommand them. Staff were very friendly. There were games in the rooms and if your childrens forgot their teddys, don't worry they even had teddys on the beds. All beds with electric blankets. Free DVD's hire. Stranhan is a nice place to stay in not... More

The property was not a 5 star resort, nor was it sold as one. We found the 2br unit to be exceptionally clean, warm (very efficient heating), comfortable and well appointed with everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Furnishings were clean and comfortable, and everything we needed was supplied. We arrived in the middle of winter on a... More

We stayed here for only one night as we were travelling through Strahan. These units were comfortable and roomy, freshly furnished (although decor was questionable in my tastes) - but perfectly adequate for a family holiday. There were no real side tables next to the bed, instead opting for some stand things that only could hold a lamp. Also there... More

It is very disappointing and distressing to find these people were so unhappy with their stay, if we had known you were worried about us doing the garden we could have gone else where away from your cottage. The gardens mean a lot to us, we need to be in it a lot to keep them looking neat & tidy. Having... More
