We arrive in amazing weather torrential rain, fork lightning and howling winds, we loved it. We love extreme weather you know you are alive. The wind during the night was amazing you felt at any minute the building would become airborne. Fantastic. We ate in town and jus as we had ordered our meal the power went of, it was... More

We didn't stay in one of the rooms - although we will if go to Stanley again. However, we did book into the restaurant, which was excellent. The young couple who run it were delightful. Like all really top restaurants, there was a limited number of dishes from which to select, and the number of guests were restricted so that... More

This hotel is out of town, a lovely 3 minute drive. 2 hotel style rooms or the cottage with 2 living areas and three bedrooms. great to have all that room. The restaurant is to die for, expensive but well worth it for at least one meal. wonderful hosts. Wonderful place to stay to visit this gorgeous part of the... More

My wife and I stayed here last night on our recent trip to Stanley. The hosts took it upon themselves to book us in for dinner there for $55 pp unasked and then could not produce the set menu. We found a lobster special at the local pub which was far better value. The unit was well furnished but the... More

Thank you Brendan for your comments and drawing to our attention housekeeping matters regarding your room which we will shall of course address now we have been made aware of them. The property is currently undergoing some outside landscaping so rather than being ‘unkept’ we are actually in transition and there is a plan to replace the back fence with... More

Wow! We had an amazing stay at the Old Cable Station. We were the only people staying so we had the entire 3 bedroom area to our selves, including a separate living and kitchen area. Would be perfect for family or couples sharing a holiday. We made sure to book in for the restaurant when we booked and ordered the... More

We stayed here for one very blustery night at the end of January. This place is quite a way out of Stanley down gravel roads but the reviews made it seem worthwhile. Although there are no actual photos of the outside on their website the illustrations do make it look a bit more "well kept" than it was. The gardens... More

We turned up for lunch to find that the hotel/restaurant was in the new and very capable hands of Euan and Jacqueline.Turns out they had taken over on January 1 and we were their first lunch customers. They both worked together at a Michelin starred restaurant near Nairn in Scotland and this background shone through in what was an excellent... More

Stayed only for one night and not lucky at all, it was a Friday, and the restaurant is not open Friday nights. What a shame. Very beautiful view from room, room was very nice, large, King Bed and all. Will stay again for sure.

This was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed, and I travel a lot for business and pleasure. The website is very low key, and it was wonderful to have my expectations exceeded on type of accommodation and price!! We stayed in the cottage, only for one night but we wished we could have stayed for mch longer.... More

Though quite remote, the accommodation at the old cable station is perfect for a few days away. Externally, the building appears more like a homestead than a plush hotel, though once inside the room it was VERY comfortable. It is well heated and cosy with a king bed, and high quality period furnishings. There is a small outside area where... More
