The best part of staying a Sanda House is the breakfast. The warm freshly baked bread and the homemade plum, quince, pear and ginger jams and local honey are irresistible. The stewed rhubarb and apple sauce along with the jams come from the back orchard. This very old farm house from the mid 1800s is charming. The old photos were... More

A picturesque historical building, hosting a charming B&B with beautiful cottage gardens, an orchard on site and a stroll to some of Tasmania's loveliest views - what's not to like! We're repeat customers to Orford Sanda House and have stayed in both the Rose Room and the one across the hall (name escapes me). On both occasions the rooms were... More

We loved this place because it was a historic building and a lovely room in Orford which is one of Tasmania's most picturesque ocean-front towns. The owners were really friendly and very helpful but we were a bit put out that we paid $130 for the room and there was no cooked breakfast! What we did have was excellent and... More

This is a quaint bed and breakfast. Staying there is like stepping back in time. The rooms and gardens are lovely. The breakfast is great.

My partner and I booked two rooms for our first night in Tasmania. Beautiful 1840's farm house with great facilities and lots of charm. Proprietor is very helpful and nice.

Our hosts at Sanda House were gracious and accommodating and all of our group relaxed and enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are great and have a genuine period charm. We stayed two nights and each morning there was four spreads, each hand made by the proprietor and each day they were different. I'm pretty sure the bread was made... More

May be B&B is not our type, however I wanted to give it a try and Orford's Sanda house seemed to be a good one. I found it nice to have a leisure room where all guests could come, read a book, play games, listen to music. The breakfast next to the fireplace was fun as well, despite we were... More

I think what is happening here is that visitors from overseas do not understand the Australian colonial history. Our house is "Heritage Listed", which means, it is as it was when it was built in 1825. The guest is paying for a room in our house. In the case of the Rose room, this was the kitchen for the main house.... More

My wife and I recently stayed at Sanda House which is in a nice garden setting but doesn't have any views. We stayed in the Rose room which as promoted on their website is a a very old structure. While some may find the Rose room's stone floors, old furniture and original fireplace quaint and interesting, the lasting impression that... More

We are very sorry that you seemed to have had such a bad time here in our lovely old house. The room is pretty well as it was in 1825 and as such we did not want to change it's character too much, by making it look as if it came out of a magazine. The bathroom is small because... More

Sanda House was my first experience as a guest in a bed and breakfast. The hosts were unobtrusive and provided a tasty breakfast of homemade bread, preserves ,fruit and cereals. The gardens surrounding the lovely old convict sandstone building are delightful as is Chester the resident labrador. The room had rough hewn sandstone walls from the local convict era quarry and decorated... More
