'Woodbridge' was a wounderful haven to relax and refresh our minds and bodies. The tastefully renovated building, lovingly bringing history into the present.. It made us feel comfortable and special. We stayed for 6 days and explored 'Tassy' using ' Woodbridge' as home. At night we sat by open fires and enjoyed complementary port, snuggling in the reading room. There... More

My partner brought me here for my birthday as a surprise. With no pre-conceived ideas about what to expect I was blown away by this property. What a unique, welcoming wonderful hotel. Reading the restoration albums on display in the living areas showed what an almighty task the owners took on to bring this property to its former glory -... More

Dear Travellingforpleasure We are delighted that you so enjoyed your time at Woodbridge, and we thank your partner for entrusting your birthday celebration to Woodbridge. I agree that 'cuddling in front of a fire' is hard to beat, but we look forward to welcoming you back in the summer and sharing the summer pleasures of cherries galore, and kayaking on... More

Woodbridge is an excellent restoration of an imposing Georgian mansion -- a melding of a sense of place, the hosts' hospitable spirit and love and knowledge of history. We drove to villages with Georgian buildings, returning for delicious dinners -- the hosts even asked ahead of time what sort of food we like and each night served delicious local produce... More

We booked for 3 days , during our 3 week stay in Tasmania, for our bit of luxury as the hotel advertised as one of the small luxury hotels of the world. We were a bit concerned as we never received responses to our email to Laurelle requesting food tour and asking about Mount Field National Park, so I rang... More

Dear gxtraveller Thank you for your lovely comment in our guest book written at the time of your departure: " Some lovely aspects to the hotel and stay. Some wrinkles need to be ironed out, a mixed bag, but potential to be a very good hotel." Thank you for taking the time to bring your observations to our attention while... More

My new husband and I had the great pleasure of spending three nights at Woodbridge for the second part of our honeymoon. We have travelled extensively and have had the great pleasure of staying at many fine establishments. I now rank Woodbridge as being one of these. I should mention that when it came to deciding what to do on... More

Dear p_soccio Thank you for your wonderful review. You had obviously read the comments from other recent reviews. Anonymous reviews are just that and difficult to address - they could have been written by absolutely anybody, anywhere in the world. The most important thing is that you had a wonderful time - that really is all that matters! Thank you... More

We were so disappointed! From the moment we pulled in the drive way our hearts just dropped from disappointment. The only saving grace is the great staff. I arranged for two night stay for my partner's 60th birthday and couldn't believe what was on offer for the price. - rooms were not 5 star - bad prawns gave my partner... More

Dear Reviewer We have carefully read your comments about your stay last November. Thank you for acknowledging our great staff - it is a truism of hospitality that it is the quality of the people and the level of service that they give, that makes any stay memorable. Of course our chef is an important member of our staff. An... More

What a disappointment this hotel was for the price being charged! Cheap MDF furnishings in the room, no bath, no room service for snacks after hours ( particularly an issue on a if you arrive on a Sunday night with very little on offer in town,) no newspapers - just magazines years out of date, next to a busy road... Dear Guest Thank you for advising us of your concerns. Woodbridge may not suit everybody and I’m sorry if you found Woodbridge a little expensive. With a maximum capacity of 16 guests, Woodbridge has a very high staff-guest ratio to meet our service standards. The Pavilion is not a public restaurant. It is a private dining facility and dinner is... More

Room is described on the internet as a suite. It is only a large room and cheaply furnished. There were few bathroom toiletries, towels were thin, shower over a small bath - hazard for elderly people and water sprays everywhere. Restaurant chars are poor quality cane, three course meals small servings and overpriced. Wine list is limited choice - only... More

Dear Guest We appreciate being advised of your concerns. Woodbridge offers both Rooms and Suites. Our largest Suite has 4 rooms. I believe that your reservation was for a Room, and I'm sorry this disappointed you. We have 2 rooms with flat walk in showers specifically designed for easy access. As Woodbridge is a heritage listed property and walls cannot... More

My husband and I came here for our twentieth anniversary. We were looking for something with a more personal tough than your big 5 star hotels. We certainly found it. Lovely location. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your time at Woodbridge. We do try to give our guests plenty of space and privacy, while still providing exceptional service, and i'm glad we have achieved this for you. I'm also glad you enjoyed the fruits fresh from the trees. The cherries and apricots are still on and I notice that the peach... More

As soon as we checked in John ensured we were comfortable and knew where everything was. We were given maps of the area and we booked in for dinner and found an extensive wine list to compliment whatever your main course may be (and very reasonably priced). For us, the highlight was our trip to Mt Field National Park, visit... More

Sorry for the tardy reply - Trip Advisor put in new access security and for me, every tech change is a challenge! Thankfully Woodbridge is much more of a 'class act'! Thank you for that accolade! We are delighted that our food and wine ranked as a highlight of your trip in the illustrious company of Mt Field National Park... More
