What a wonderful and very special place this is. Situated in the historic and very picturesque Derwent Valley, this majestic home encapsulates the beauty and romanticism of the belle epoch. Your delightful hosts, Pat and Garry, tirelessly invest their passion and energy in this wonderful place while making you feel that their home is your home. The rooms are beautifully... More

I stayed here a few weeks ago and it was marvellous! I had travelled down to Tasmania and couldn't find accommodation in Hobart due to the long weekend. Someone suggested I look to stay in one of the towns just outside of the city and New Norfolk sounded quite nice. I'm very glad I did decide to stay out that... More

Our first time to Tasmania -we stayed Hobart the first night and the subsequent 3 nights in New Norfolk. Luckily we found Pat and Gary who allowed us to use their house in the CBD. Beautifully presented and a pleasure to stay. Well recommended.

... Imagine yourself as playing a part in a Somerset Maugham short story. On top of this nostalgic experience with fabulous dinner, mark also that, like in those times, Pat cooks the jams and the rhubarb/strawberry for breakfast.

We have never stayed anywhere in the world that has exceeded the olde worlde charm, live entertainment, ambience, food and wine all skilfully blended for a superb unforgettable experience. Pat and Gary provided the best new year's eve experience ever!

This is quite the place to go to celebrate a special occasion. If you are a garden lover and lover of history this place is worth more than a one night stay. I've spent 2 nights at Tynwald, and i was very sad not to be able to spend a week there... First of all, when you arrive there, it's a back step in the time: I had the impression to be in 1880!!! The house is just beautiful, the garden smells all type of roses and flowers and the hostlers are... More

We recently stayed at Tynwald for one night. The property is located about 20mins outside of Hobart and is a good alternative base to city hotels. It is a gorgeous old estate with beautiful gardens and rooms that are decorated full of antiques and bits and pieces from by gone eras. Dinner and breakfast at Tynwald are fantastic, Gary is... More

This property is a hidden gem set well back down a leafy lined winding driveway. The building and grounds are very well maintained and have an atmosphere of old world elegance. Each room is different with it's own colour scheme and nick-nacks. An electric heater is discreetly situated positioned on the wall but we did not need to have this... More

We had just left a truly remarkable B&B in Sheffield.... and then we arrived here, and we instantly thought "here it is, the down point of our Tassie holiday". Yes, this property is old. That's a reason I wanted to stay here- to experience an old colonial mansion. But there is old, and then there is tired, damp, run down,... More
