Friendly, helpful staff and a quiet comfortable room. We were able to get a ground floor room, so the convenience of parking at the front door was good. The laundry facilities were OK at a reasonable rate. The location was a bit out of the way, but quiet & away from traffic which was good and also a good location... More

This accomodation was a little tired and small but clean. The reception staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was adequate and on the second floor, which made humping suitcases a little difficult. Little things like newspapers and free WIFI were nice touches. We had breakfast in the restaraunt on site. The food was very good but had to... More

We now stay here when ever we come to Burnie. Price is equal to the standard, unlike many other accomodation places in Burnie where you pay top dollar and get budget accomodation. This motel is away from a main road so the rooms are quiet. They are clean and spacious enough with comfortable beds and decent inclusions. Nice touches such... More

Friendly staff at the counter was very helpful. There's free WIFI internet, DVDs available at the counter. The restaurant serve very good meals and the servings are very generous. It has a wide selection of steak, seafood and pasta. It's a restaurant compared to other places where the attached restaurant is more like a pub with the usual pub meals.... More

We just wanted a shower and bed in a clean hotel at a budget price. This little gem was such a surprise - quaint setting, clean and fresh, free DVDs (that we didn't have time to appreciate), but the two things that were really special were: 1. The staff - we spent ages questioning the lady (sorry forgotten her name)... More

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at Murchison Lodge. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. It was nice and quiet, located across from the river and a park. We used this as a base to travel from while we visited Cradle Mountain, Gunns Plains Caves, Stanley and the Tarkine Wilderness areas just to name a few. There is so... More

This Hotel is a bit shabby. The rooms are quite small, ours was not well cleaned, the bed had a disconcerting slant, and the toilet cistern ran most of the night. Our initial booking was for two nights with another to follow after a brief trip elsewhere. I complained about the offensive matter left in the room. Apologies were duly... More

Thanks Jaycar98 for taking the time to post your review. While we much prefer positive reviews, our role is to ensure ALL our guests would be happy to return - we regret that you would not. We have attended to the bed in question (a Sleepmaker 5*-purchased early 2011) and to the 'running' toilet cistern and thankyou for bring these... More

I was very pleasantly surprised by my stay at this hotel. Located outside of Burnie opposite a park and river, it was quiet and well maintained. When I consider what I often get in a CBD hotel for 2 or 3 times the price, this hotel had what you need - good bed, table for work, wifi, reasonably sized bathroom,... More

We're not fans of the Best Western chain, after several botched bookings, but Murchison Lodge is the exception. Located just outside of Burnie on a pretty river shore, the owners of the Lodge go to a lot of trouble to maintain the rooms and make sure they are attractive and up-to-date. There's free Wi-Fi and a good TV (with far... More
