I had booked two nights stay as I was taking the children to Alton Towers, The rooms were clean and tidy with tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided. The 1st evening we were able to sit in the restaurant for our evening meal, I personally enjoyed the food choices that was on offer, but I did find there wasn't such... More

We are fairly local to Colton but have only just discovered this wonderful restaurant. We visited on a Wednesday evening expecting an empty restaurant but it was buzzing. The atmosphere was amazing, the staff couldn't do enough for us and everything on the menu sounded delicious. I had herb crusted goats cheese with a spicy tomato relish followed by pork... More

Eight years ago on a business trip, I stayed at Ye Olde Dun Cow Inn and enjoyed the experience so much I was determined to return. This time on holidays, my wife and I stayed for 3 days and found the same village atmosphere with friendly staff Chris and Maggie going out of their way to make us feel happy... More

Although we didn't stay the night at this gorgeous Inn. I just had to write a review about the restaraunt. My husband & I stumbled on this place early on a saturday evening. Although they were fully booked they made up a table right by a beautiful open fire & explained they would need table back in a couple of... More

We stayed here on the way home from a trip to Alton Towers. The room was lovely and spacious with a big comfy bed, crisp sheets and tea/coffee/hot chocolate (always nice). Our en-suite was perfectly adequate and we were impressed with how they'd coped with the slanty ceilings! We had a fantastic meal and wine in the pub that evening... More

Booked 2 days at Alton Towers! So we were looking for fairly local accomodation without using Lodges or the AT hotel. The Olde Dun Cow came up on a web search, it is about 25 minutes from Alton Towers via Uttoxeter, but may take longer dependant on traffic. It is located in the little village of Colton, and is a... We stayed here for two nights in an en suite room and had a wonderful stay. The staff were welcoming from the moment we stepped through the doors. The en suite room that we had was excellent, very clean with crisp white bed linen. Tea and coffee in the room is provided along with shampoo and shower gel in the... More

Nice friendly staff, clean tidy good sized rooms, my only gripe, before we stayed we made it quite clear to them by phone that 2 in the party were vegetarians and 1 in the party was a vegan, so asked for fruit salad for breakfast and 2 veggie cooked brekkies with spaghetti not beans, but no fruit salad for my...
