Our family arrived at Chained Oak Farm to be greeted by Liz who runs a very impressive and well maintained B&B. We were shown to our rooms in the converted stable block and found a very well presented room and bathroom with what can only be described as a REAL POWER SHOWER - you know - the ones you don't... I stayed here for two nights last year for my daughter's birthday trip to Alton Towers, we couldn't fault anything about our stay. The owner, Liz was pleasant and efficient. We got an enthusiatic greeting from the dogs, who my daughter loved (I'm not too keen on dogs but didn't find them at all intimidating). Liz had contacted us a... More

First of all, I read the reviews before I booked and having returned this weekend from a stay at the Chained Oak, I find the review of Flyingboy77 totally bizarre! Clearly he either a) has an axe to grind or b) has been smoking something! Neither my son nor I could find a single fault with the Chained Oak and... More

we stayed at the chained oak for 2 nights, immediately we were shown around and were allowed to leave our car until our room was ready, we trekked a mere 10 minutes to the park. Breakfast was always amazing and the surroundings where peaceful and pleasant, the rooms were hygienic well sized and well equipped, I can find no faults!... More

We booked a night's stay at the Chained Oak so we could have two days at Alton Towers with the kids. We arrived about 11am and although our rooms were not ready, (which I would not expect so early anyway) we were shown round and welcomed. We left our car there for the day while we walked the 10 mins... More

Stayed at The Chained Oak on the 28th March. Lovely warm welcome from Liz and a well received cup of coffee as we had just driven up from Essex . Liz showed us our room where we would be staying that night - the family room. Kind of Like a mini flat, double bed in one room, another in another... More

Brilliant location for Alton towers and everything about the stay was superb! The room was spotlessly clean with ample space. The breakfast was great, everything from toast to a full English. It felt very homely and Liz was more than accommodating with any questions we had. Definatley a hidden gem, I would recommend all day long. :) More
