Stayed here on the way to south Devon, had a room overlooking the sea, it was lovely. Greeted by a very friendly young man at reception, we had 2 dogs and he made them very welcome. The Hotel was very clean and inviting, also quiet, we had breakfast in the bar with our dogs, which was excellent as we did... More

Room was spacious, clean with a good view. Shower controls were antiquated and impossible to adjust comfortably. The basin tap dripped all night. Evening snack in the dining room was good; breakfasts very good Receptionist very pleasant and helpful, but the bedside phone did't work and she didn't know why. Good parking right outside. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay. More

Pay extra for a sea-facing room. Lovely views. Quiet. The hotel is quite a (slightly hilly) walk from main amenities like restaurants, banks, shops and the actual sea front! Some parking outside back door. Room adequate. Receptionist is quite new and a bit too much when one arrives after a long drive. One has to complete a form upon arrival... More

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel for a short break and were very pleasantly surprised - good food, high standard of cleanliness - and a very friendly welcome from the proprietor. Very good value for the money ! More

I didn't get very good verbal reviews on this hotel from relatives however I stayed last night with my partner and Puppy and we were thoroughly impressed the views were brilliant and the manager was extremely friendly. The room was clean and well equipped and very reasonable value for money. It's close to the seafront with many walks and a... More

The double-room I stayed in wasn't what I had asked for but was OK for one night. The room was very "tired" as was the whole hotel. The room was ensuite however there was no window in the bathroom - there was an air-vent which "rattled all night in the wind. The cleanliness of the room was affected by the... More

Nice faded building with the need for some tender loving care.Probably a decorators nightmare but the hotel was clean and tidy and met the requirements of a 2 star rating.Unfortunately our room did not overlook the glorious sea view but if you stay here these are the rooms to book,Only a hand held shower but a very large bath. The... More

Wanted a triple room as have disabled son, stay close to Bristol and be at the coast. Found The Highcliffe. Decor quite faded, but what I expect of a two star hotel, and very clean. Beds very comfortable and room fair sized. View from room to die for and breakfasts really good. Management and staff very courteous and helpful. Will... More
