I must get the record for taking the longest time to leave a review on Trip Advisor! I stayed at The Old Rectory on the lake as a guest on New Year’s Eve and due to uni and canoeing commitments have only just got round to doing this. It was great to see the new year in at The Old Rectory... More

Well if I am being honest I was dragged here by my husband as he goes to this guest house so he can fish on the lake at Tal-y-Lynn. He was to fish with his friend and his wife and I were to try and amuse ourselves somehow!! Waow, what an amazing 4 days I had. First of all the... More

Following last November's walk on the Minffordd path up Cadair Idris, we returned to The Old Rectory to tackle the summit from Ty Nant along the Pony Path. We were pretty successful but the low cloud prevented us from actually finding the summit cairn stone! Once back at John and Ricky's, we took full advantage of the huge bath in... More

We are pleased that you have deemed us to be 'perfect'! We do try our best but feel we do not always get it right - so thanks for this encouragement. We were very fortunate that during that weekend we had two very experienced fishermen staying with us who managed to catch some great brown trout which many diners -... More

A tranquil retreat with not a caravan for miles. We stayed for 3 nights with friends and the ladies wanted to stay longer - or go back next week (and the week after). Room, food, location and, most importantly, the welcome were all first class. More

We stayed at The Old Rectory on the Lake to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday and had an unforgettable weekend. To be honest, even if everything else was rubbish, it... More

The whole package - the hospitality, the room, the food and the view(wow) was simply sensational and we think that there are many other B & B owners who should... More

Have just returned from 1 night at this lovely tranquil B&B & wished we had been staying longer! Our room (Craig Goch) was lovely with a beautiful view over the lake & a gorgeous large bathroom. We had dinner in the evening which was 5star & worth every penny, and the breakfast was exceptionally good. Thankyou John & Ricky, we... More
