A couple of months ago I booked 2 double rooms here for a night in early April. I decided to call ahead the week before to double check the booking. Luckily I did because I found out the B&B has closed down! Weirdly there is nothing on their website.

We had a lovely two night stay and would highly recommend this picturesque spot. As a large family attending a nearby wedding we booked a total of three rooms and I would recommend if you have an infant that you stay in the outside cottage so mid night crying can't affect other guests staying inside the inn. There is a... More

A very pleasant country Inn atmosphere, with pleasant staff. Plentiful portions but not everything on the menu available. We dined quite late which may explain why my turkey was a little dry. The car park potholes desperately need attention but we will definitely go there again.

It was a shame turning up at this lovely country pub in a Saturday night to find the car park empty, the staff was friendly and welcoming, in restaurnt that was empty but a plesent room. We was a little disappointed there was 2 main meals they had ran out off and there wasn't a special menu! My husband fancied... More

We just had a pub meal in the evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. Standard pub fare but well prepared and presented with cheerful friendly service. There was a nice open fire which added to the atmosphere. Good value. Good beer too!

We went here because all the restaurants in Much Wenlock were fully booked. The choices on the evening menu were somewhat limited; however, we were not disappointed with the starters and mains and found them both tasty and fairly priced. We did not want any sweets. The internal premises are not inspiring yet in keeping with many rural pubs. But... More

Stayed one night with some friends. Very pretty from outside but quite remote. We stayed in the cottage which is a good size but could be so much nicer with a little TLC. The bathroom was our major complaint. Badly in need of some renovation - grubby tiles and mouldy shower , so much so that I left without showering... More

Went for a meal at this pub/restaurant this week. Have to say the choice of food is limited, and although cooked well, my own food was rather dry due to no gravy/sauce. Everyone agreed the food was very average indeed and certainly thought to be overpriced. Having said that what lifted the evening was the waitress who was polite, sweet... More

We didn't stay in the B&B side of the Inn, having a caravan a few miles down the road. However, we called in for drink one evening - good range of local beers - and decided to return for a meal the following night. We chose the £29.99 meal for two with a free bottle of wine - the menu... More

Arrived 6.30 on a Sarurday for meal attracted by A boards stating hot food available to 11pm. Told by girl behind bar "He says he's not doing anymore walk-ins tonight" No arguments, no food. Exit stage left to find somewhere else to eat. Guys, if you don't want the business, don't advertise for it.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Located high atop Wenlock Edge, with stunning views of Shropshire's Apedale, the Long Mynd, and beyond. We are a traditional Shropshire pub, offering true hospitality to everyone from walkers, horse riders, through to lunch time diners wanting a pub snack or light bites. In the evenings we host many locals, farmers and business folk after hard days work, enjoying real ale in the bar, a glass of wine, along with our extensive restaurant menus. Following our loving restoration in Spring 2008, the Wenlock Edge Inn now offers a wide selection of real ales (A member of CAMRA) fine wines, and Belgian Beers..Alongside our local and regional produce. BarOur Hobsons Real ales, as well as Continental lagers, attract menu thirsty passers by, and we have created an exciting new wine list, with many by the glass, or by the bottle. The food is lovingly created by Paul Ryder (Previously achieving 2 AA Rosettes for his food at Stretton Hall, Church Stretton) and ably served by his long suffering wife, me, Shropshire born Emma, who I like to think has also played a very important role in achieving our recent successes including the Rosettes. The menu is traditional British pub food, from premium bar snacks, all the way up to great local steaks (with our hand-cut fat chips) and homemade pies - also fresh beer battered scallops, lobster on our selected fish nights, and our daily fish board (depending on season). Using local and regional produce, we will be holding special events, where you can often meet our local suppliers, as many of them drink in the pub! Enjoy our views on our stunning enclosed patio, complete with fish pond from our own Wenlock Edge fresh water spring. Rooms like 'The Edge' is a great place to base yourself if you are on a leisure break, or even if you don't want a taxi and want to enjoy the setting, and of course a few glasses of wine! Our Country style bedrooms available from 50 per single . ... more   less
