we stopped off here for something to eat while traveling from south to north wales. we both had lamb shank (£7.50) and it we both agreed that it was possibly the tastiest lamb i've ever eaten in a restaurant. the chef imparted his knowledge to me and was altogether a credit to the establishment. full marks! I visited for dinner on a Saturday in March. The place was quiet but the staff were very hospitable. I ate in the bar area rather than the dining room as the latter was deserted. The menu has all the standards - steak, fish, lamb - but strangely, no chicken. Prices were in the 5 to 10 pounds range, so... More

Myself, my husband and aunt and uncle went there at the last minute on a Sunday (apparently dining on a Sunday evening in Craven Arms is very limited). On looking at the menu, whose main courses start at £4.50 and don't go far beyond £10, you would be excused for thinking that the meals would be microwaved and very average.... More

Had a 2 course meal. Very good and cheap. Service OK but young waitress not well trained and took a long time to get the bill. Friendly and comfortable bar. More

Looked promising but there were several negatives. Dusty and cobwebby cupboard with poor supplies of tea and coffee - no milk at all. Kettle had to be used on floor as lead was too short to reach socket. TV was very small and so near the ceiling it gave a crick in the neck unless lying down. Only 2 terrestrial... More

TV mounted so high it was impossible to watch and remote did not work properly. Bannister up to room very dirty and sticky. To use kettle we had to move the bed away from the wall and rest a shoe on the switch to make it work. Very noisy from the bar, loud music and the noise continued until 1.30 am.... More

Nice welcome. Room very basic and very unclean. Cobwebs everywhere. Lots of noise from bar downstairs. Had a nice meal in the evening. More

We were welcomed with a smile (thanks Harriet!) and after eleven hours in the car due to M6 traffic chaos that was a terrific start! The room isn't modern, but this isn't a modern Travelodge type inn. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Down to the bar, where the range of drinks was good and well-priced (try the... Stayed in this Hotel (Should rename it hostel!) for a couple of nights The room was small and in desperate need of decorating, it had wood chip wall paper that was peeling, the door felt very insecure and if someone pushed hard enough i reckon that it would have opened! The TV was mounted on the wall, but too high... More
