Although Witney is not one of the most beautiful towns in the Cotswolds, there is a really good place to spend the night. Maybe it was more expensive that what I normally pay, but there was some of the cheapest offers in the Cotswolds. We chose the hotel because was one of the few that allows you to stay just... More

Had stayed in the Fleece before, and really liked it. This time it was good again, but there were a couiple of dinstinct negatives. The guest house has lots of character, and is all very nice. However, in the bathroom, paint was peeling off the walls, which is not in-keeping. Also, it corridor is like a maze, and it is... More

Stayed in a family room for one night with 20 and 11 year old daughters. Room was across car park access lane in an annex. Smallest bed was very uncomfortable and not popular with the girls. No milk to make hot drinks and only two cups supplied. Bathroom had a funny smell and no shelf for toiletries and no glasses... More

We were more than pleased with our pleasant 2nd floor room (room5) overlooking the green. The carpark at the back had plenty of space. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant. Breakfast was excellent. Would highly reccomend and would stay again. More

Long time customers of the "Peach" chain, just could not believe the room we had booked. In fairness we were offered to see another room but you dont get a second chance on a first impression and the first impression was very bad. We must say in the Fleeces defence, good food, good atmosphere and service, but stay somewhere else!! More

I've read through some of the previous reviews here and am surprised at any of the negative ones re: food. I've been here for quite a few dinners and lunches with family over the last 6 years and its always been great service and great food. On our most recent visit we actually stayed over- despite living locally - and... More

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Fleece last weekend. Our room was very large and, although over the main lounge area of the pub, was amazingly quiet. The setting of The Fleece overlooking the church green was gorgeous. We ate in the restaurant - there was a good menu choice and plenty of local produce used in the... More

Stayed two nights when sub zero outside but very warm and very welcoming inside. Informal, cheerful, lively atmosphere. Nice staff. Food is excellent, not cheap but the prices are OK given the quality and the menu. Restaurant area merges with bar area, whole has a noisy cheerful atmosphere....like a brasserie. Lots of locals ( a good sign) Breakfast was very... More

We dropped in to the Fleece without a booking, They were in the middle of a very busy lunchtime service but they found us a nice table. Great friendly and cheerful staff and fantastic food - perfect roast beef on National Yorkshire Pudding Day!! Well done the Fleece - we'll be back!! More
